Kopitiam is evolving the neighbourhood food hall experience once again!

With the opening of its newest outlet at Hillion Mall, Kopitiam introduces a thoughtfully reimagined dining environment that brings the comfort, clarity and spatial flow of a hotel dining space into everyday Kopitiam dining — while retaining the accessibility and price points that Singaporeans are familiar with.

The new outlet reflects a growing expectation that neighbourhood dining spaces should feel not just functional, but comfortable, calming and inspiring for families and friends to gather.
“When customers enter our Kopitiam food hall to enjoy our delicious and affordable offerings, we encourage them to take a breather, smile, and appreciate the thoughtful design as well, it is important to us that our customers nourish not just their bellies but also their mental experience,” said Ms Pauline Png, Director & Head of Customer Innovation and Marketing, Food Services, FairPrice Group.

A Community-Led Kopitiam, Reimagined with Hospitality Design
The space departs from the visual density typically associated with traditional food halls. Floor-to-ceiling windows draw in natural light, while warm wood finishes and soft ambient lighting create a sense of calm without dulling the vibrancy of the space.

Floor-to-ceiling windows and intentional seating configuration for any time of day

Clear sightlines and intentional zoning improve navigation and reduce visual clutter, introducing a greater sense of order. Seating is thoughtfully configured to reflect how Singaporeans dine at different times of day:
● Plush booth seating for families and longer meals
● Communal tables that accommodate larger groups and students
● Single countertop rows designed for solo diners
● Cosy cubby spaces for quieter conversations
● Staggered platform seating encourages relaxed, side-by-side dining

Incorporating a relaxed, social dimension, staggered platform seating allows for side-by-side interactions, ideal for casual dining, drinks, and convivial conversations rather than formal meals, while maintaining an approachable environment that is inclusive and affordable for the community.

Open Cooking Concepts That Spotlight a La Minute Quality

Inspired by the openness of hotel dining arenas, the layout emphasises open cooking concepts and clear visibility. Diners can see their meals being prepared in real time, reinforcing freshness and transparency while creating a more engaging dining environment.

Diversity is central to the Kopitiam experience, with 25 curated stalls reflecting Singapore’s multicultural dining landscape, 14 of which are halal-certified. Highlights include Crave Nasi Lemak’s first-ever entry into a food hall, the newly launched Japanese shabu-shabu concept Shabu Days, established favourites such as Ann Chin Popiah and Pepper Lunch Express, along with household names including Old Airport Road Wanton Mee and House of Lemang, known for its authentic beef rendang.

An array of international cuisines is also available to ensure broad appeal across generations, including Pagkaing Pinoy specials from Ms. Inasal Filipino Food & Grill, Japanese dishes, aromatic offerings from Telur Thai, and spicy Korean and Mala options.
