There’s a certain wisdom in knowing when to push ahead and when to pause, take stock, and pick a better moment.

For the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2026, that moment has now shifted.

RX has confirmed the region’s marquee travel trade event will move from its traditional May slot to 17–20 August 2026, remaining firmly anchored at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Same stage, different timing, and arguably better footing.

On paper, it’s a date change. In practice, it’s a quiet nod to the realities shaping global travel right now: unpredictability, shifting confidence, and the ever-present need to keep people quite literally in the room.

Now in its 33rd year, ATM isn’t just another industry gathering. It’s where aviation chiefs rub shoulders with tourism ministers, hotel groups jostle for attention, and travel tech firms promise to reinvent everything short of the airport queue. When it moves, the industry notices.

And this move? It’s about giving the market space to breathe.

Danielle Curtis, Exhibition Director ME for Arabian Travel Market, didn’t dress it up unnecessarily:
“Arabian Travel Market has long served as a vital platform for bringing the global travel and tourism community together in Dubai, enabling destinations, suppliers and industry leaders to connect, collaborate and shape the future of the sector.”

She added, with the sort of clarity the industry has come to expect:
“The safety and well-being of our customers, partners and colleagues remains our highest priority, and the decision to reschedule ATM 2026 to August reflects our commitment to ensuring that everyone can participate at this important industry gathering. We look forward to welcoming the international travel community back to Dubai later this year.”

There’s no panic here, just pragmatism.

Behind the scenes, RX is already working the phones, smoothing logistics, and ensuring exhibitors don’t lose momentum. It’s a delicate operation, but hardly unfamiliar territory for a sector that has spent the better part of a decade mastering contingency planning.

And August? Yes, it’s warmer here in Dubai, after all, but the trade-off is clarity. More certainty. Fewer question marks hang over international attendance.

For an event built on connections, that matters.

Because in the end, ATM isn’t about dates on a calendar. It’s about who shows up and whether they’re ready to do business when they do.

MIchelle Warner - Bio PicMichelle Warner has always carried stories the way others carry passports lightly, faithfully, and with purpose. She learned her craft in newsrooms, shaping sentences with care, before swapping deadlines for departures as a flight attendant with some of the world’s great airlines. Years aloft sharpened her eye for character and deepened her fondness for the small, dignified rituals of travel, the quiet kindness of strangers, the poetry of arrival, the patience learned between time zones.
Now grounded by choice, Michelle has come home to writing with the same calm authority she once brought to turbulent cabins. Her prose blends an editor’s discipline with a traveller’s wonder, tinged with humour and reverence for the golden age of travel. Each piece feels like a handwritten boarding pass, gracious, observant, and unmistakably alive.
