Spread the love
As a new year begins, Aman-i-Khás emerges renewed, welcoming a new chapter on the edge of Ranthambore National Park. Expanding the resort’s total to 13 pavilions, the introduction of two new Grand Tented Pool Pavilions and a Tented Pool Pavilion enhanced the camp’s offering of comfort and seclusion, for which Aman has become renowned. Meanwhile, a host of new exclusive activities and experiences spanning inspired dining to wilderness-led wellness echo the meaning behind the camp’s name – a combination of Aman, the Sanskrit word for ‘peace,’ and Khás, meaning ‘special’ in Hindi.
Enhanced Accommodation
At 256 square metres in size, new Grand Tented Pool Pavilions become the property’s largest, providing an experience akin to staying in a grand hotel suite, yet beneath a soaring canvas canopy. Complete with a temperature-controlled outdoor pool, enclosed open-air sundeck, generous living and dining spaces and a spa-like bathroom, the new pavilions invite evenings spent dining alfresco or reclining poolside beneath the stars. Similarly, the light-filled Tented Pool Pavilion, spanning 164 square metres of space, offers unrivalled comfort in a wilderness setting, with its own private plunge pool.

Outdoor Adventure & Cultural Discovery
While Aman-i-Khás remains celebrated for unrivalled access to Ranthambore’s abundant wildlife, including the elusive Bengal tiger, the camp’s experience offering extends far beyond safari, immersing guests in Rajasthan’s culture, landscapes and culinary heritage.
Beyond the resort, the region’s riches are revealed through a range of exclusive excursions into its untamed wilds. In the cooler months, the Surwal Lake Excursion invites guests to experience a plethora of birdlife, with more than 200 species of indigenous and migratory birds descending on the wetlands. Departing before sunrise with an expert guide, spot bar-headed geese, kingfishers, hoopoes, lapwings and pelicans, before pausing for chai tea and traditional sweets at the water’s edge.
The surrounding landscape also offers a journey into the region’s royal past. Just 90 minutes from camp, The Fort & The River experience visits the once-majestic Khandar Fort, perched above soaring plains. Following winding trails to dramatic viewpoints, guests unearth ancient temples, stepwells and palaces now enveloped by nature, before continuing to the Chambal River, one of Rajasthan’s few remaining waterways. Here, a short cruise offers encounters with crocodiles, turtles and rare birdlife, accompanied by a private, chef-prepared lunch served overlooking the ravines.
For those seeking a more in-depth exploration of the region’s most protected waterway, a private two-hour cruise can also be arranged. Onboard a Bayliner and accompanied by a naturalist guide, guests drift between water-carved ravines and cultivated fields, possibly even spotting the elusive river dolphin, before docking for lunch on the river.
For further immersion into the region’s royal past, horse safaris with the legendary Marwari breed offer an alternative way to explore the land and its history. Once prized by Rajput royals for their loyalty and endurance, this beautiful breed carries guests across untouched terrain in a romantic ride past picturesque lakes and through rural villages, as if lost in time.
Later, as day turns to dusk, even deeper exploration of the world’s natural beauty awaits with an astronomer-led cosmic safari beneath Rajasthan’s vast night skies. With the help of a powerful eight-inch Dobsonian telescope, the hour-long session guarantees the observation of at least four to six major celestial objects including the moon, planets, nebulas, galaxies and various constellations.
Wellness in the Wilderness
As well as adventure, restoration is woven into life at Aman-i-Khás, with signature rituals inspired by ancient Indian healing traditions. After the day’s explorations, Ayurvedic herbal poultice massages using warm herb-infused oils ease body and mind into a place of profound serenity, while aromatic baths prepared with fresh herbs from the camp’s own organic garden can be arranged in the comfort of guest pavilions. Beneath the lush forest canopy, guests can explore the open-air gym, which features modern training and athletic equipment crafted with local expertise, allowing each movement to resonate with the rhythm and sights of nature.
New for 2026, a tranquil yoga platform set over the camp’s pond creates an inspiring setting for morning practice or a quiet moment of balance. Floating above the water and framed by the sounds of the nearby national park, a range of movement sessions is offered. Pranayama helps regulate and increase oxygen supply, correcting patterns of breathing to release stress, Meditation creates space in which the intensity of surface tensions subsides heightening alertness and Private Yoga combines breathwork with certain postures to improve flexibility as well as deeply massage the inner organs, increasing circulation. Movement classes can also take place in the comfort and privacy of guests’ own pavilion.
Culinary Experiences
Dining at Aman-i-Khás is an experience as enriching as its landscapes, with culinary journeys that celebrate Rajasthan’s flavours, traditions and royal history. New for the season, the Machan Dining experience invites guests to an extraordinary setting raised 20 feet above the forest floor, inspired by the elevated platforms once used in Indian jungles during royal hunts. Here, guests can indulge with a private feast reminiscent of hunting banquets of the past, with a dedicated host and chef serving traditional country cooking over an open wood fire.
Families can also embark on culinary adventures together, with immersive cooking classes that begin at the local market, selecting seasonal produce accompanied by a chef, before returning to camp to pick herbs from the organic garden. After preparing a northern Indian feast, guests can enjoy their creations, with adults enhancing the experience with wine pairing, and younger guests sipping healthy smoothies or mocktails curated by the camp’s mixologist.
As night falls, the camp’s wild setting sets the stage once again for unforgettable private Forest Dining under the stars. Guests arrive by lantern light before receiving a warm welcome from the chef, who showcases traditional naan bread preparation in a tandoor (clay oven). Several courses follow, including fragrant soups and kebabs, served with wildlife as an enchanting soundtrack.
With the introduction of its new pavilions and a host of enriching cultural, culinary, wellness and nature-led adventures, Aman-i-Khás continues to enhance its immersive wilderness experience in the year ahead.
