Regent Hotels & Resorts is delighted to announce the appointment of Juan Losada as General Manager of Regent Phu Quoc, at a moment when Phu Quoc continues to shine on the global stage. In 2025, the island was named Asia’s Most Beautiful Island and ranked among the Top 3 Best Islands in the World by Condé Nast Traveler. It was also celebrated by Travel + Leisure as one of Asia-Pacific’s most beautiful islands, further cementing its status as a coveted destination for discerning luxury travellers. These recognitions follow Phu Quoc’s 2024 accolade as the World’s Second-Best Island in Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards and its recent title as the World’s Leading Nature Island Destination at the World Travel Awards – underscoring its growing reputation as a sanctuary of natural beauty and refined indulgence.
Bringing a vast catalogue of experience shaped by more than 15 years in luxury hospitality, Losada is a dedicated hotelier with sharp commercial instincts. He is known for guiding diverse, multicultural teams, nurturing talent, and elevating guest experiences with authenticity and care.
Losada holds a Master of Business Administration from EHL Lausanne in Switzerland and a Bachelor of Arts in Hotel Management from the University of West London in the UK, grounding his leadership in both strategic expertise and a genuine commitment to exceptional service.
The appointment is a homecoming of sorts for Losada, who shared his industry nous as part of the opening executive team in the role of pre-opening General Manager for Regent Phu Quoc between 2019 and 2022.
During this former role, Losada was responsible for developing the hotel strategy, shaping the product, and positioning the resort as an ultra-luxury brand in the Vietnamese and SEA markets. He collaborated closely with the branding team to craft signature guest experiences and oversaw the pre-opening budget. Beyond financial management, Losada played a pivotal role in steering the business through the challenges of the pandemic – ensuring operational continuity, supporting teams, and helping the resort remain resilient during a period of unprecedented uncertainty.
Leading up to its opening in 2022, Regent Phu Quoc was celebrated by leading global travel publications – including Forbes, Condé Nast Traveler, and Travel + Leisure – as one of the most anticipated luxury hotel debuts of the year.
Returning to Regent Phu Quoc as General Manager, Losada brings extensive international experience in managing luxury hotels across destinations including Dubai and Barcelona. Properties under his leadership have consistently earned industry accolades, reflecting his commitment to excellence. He has also been personally recognised with multiple awards for his contributions to hotel performance and guest experience.
Among his notable career achievements was the organisation of the highly successful APEC 2017 summit, which welcomed 21 heads of state, including President Trump, President Xi, President Putin, and Madame Lagarde. This milestone underscores Losada’s exceptional capability in orchestrating complex, high-profile events with precision, discretion, and an unwavering commitment to elevated experiences.
Regent Phu Quoc warmly welcomes Losada back to guide the luxury property into its next phase of growth with his seasoned leadership and invaluable industry intuition. Through strengthening operational efficiencies, refining revenue-generating opportunities, and implementing innovative approaches to guest engagement and enjoyment, Losada will ensure Regent Phu Quoc continues to set the benchmark for unmatched high-end hospitality in the region.
