Emirates has successfully concluded its ‘Down Under in Dubai’ Mega Famil, marking the airline’s largest ever initiative dedicated to Australian and New Zealand travel agents. From 10 -14 November, over 130 travel professionals enjoyed an unforgettable experience, gaining unparalleled access to Dubai’s vibrant cultural tapestry and world-class tourism. This immersive Famil definitively showcased Dubai’s evolution into a premier leisure destination, proving its profound allure far beyond a global transit hub.

Agents experienced Dubai’s diverse blend of tradition and modernity through top attractions and exclusive events such as a welcome event at Nikki Beach, visits to the Museum of the Future, a cultural exchange at the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, a Platinum Heritage Desert Safari, a visit to the Burj Khalifa, and the interactive House of Hype at Dubai Mall as well as a Farewell Gala Dinner at Atlantis The Royal.

The itinerary also included exclusive behind-the-scenes access to Emirates’ operational headquarters beginning at Emirates Aviation College, featuring presentations from Nabil Sultan Executive Vice President, Passenger Sales & Country Management, alongside representatives from Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism which provided insights into Emirates’ economic strategy and the region’s tourism vision. Dubai Airports provided an insight to the forthcoming Al Maktoum International Airport due to open in 2032 proposed to eventually be the world’s largest international airport and Emirates’ new global hub.

Agents had a choice of behind-the-scenes tours that included Emirates’ Network Control Centre, observing its 24/7 coordination for punctual operations (flight planning, scheduling and ground handling). Many visited the Cabin Crew Training Facility, which showcased the airline’s rigorous safety and service standards, emphasising hospitality training aligned with its four service pillars: excellence, attentiveness, innovation, and passion.

Other participants received a detailed overview of Emirates’ investments in product enhancements including the airline’s multi-billion dollar retrofit program, the award-winning Premium Economy offering, and the next-generation A350, debuting in Adelaide from 1 December.

These insights underscored Emirates’ commitment to a premium travel experience, connecting over 150 global destinations via Dubai.

Dean Cleaver, Emirates Regional Sales Manager, said: The ‘Down Under in Dubai’ Mega Famil represents a pivotal moment in our long-standing relationship with our Australian and New Zealand travel partners. Offering them the opportunity to experience Dubai’s authentic spirit and diverse offerings, proving that even a short stopover can transform a journey into an unforgettable adventure. We believe this firsthand experience and product insights will empower them to inspire clients to discover Dubai’s magic and seamlessly connect to the world through our home hub.”

By year-end, all Australian routes will feature enhanced product offerings, including Premium Economy on Perth’s retrofitted A380 and Adelaide’s new A350 from 1 Dec.
