As the first InterContinental Resort to open in Australia, the property continues its legacy of grand Queensland architecture and elevated experiences with a significant refresh now underway across its meeting and event infrastructure.
The $1.4 million refurbishment of The Woolshed, the resortʼs primary conference and event hub, marks a major investment in the propertyʼs business events capabilities.
Launching in early 2026, the revitalised Woolshed will anchor the resortʼs enhanced meetings and events offering. The redesign introduces a contemporary, business-ready aesthetic, improved operational functionality, and upgraded technology tailored for conferences and gala events.
Key enhancements include:
- Comprehensive interior refurbishment, bringing a refined, modern finish to the Ballroom and first-floor meeting rooms.
- Updated lighting control systems to support high-production event formats.
- New banquet furniture and fittings, delivering design cohesion and increased flexibility for event layouts.
The upgrades further strengthen the resortʼs appeal for planners seeking seamless, large-scale events in a destination setting, complementing last yearʼs technology enhancements, including the installation of an 18-metre LED screen.

InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort has 15 indoor and outdoor venues, forming one of the Gold Coastʼs most diverse event precincts. Planners can integrate spaces across the Resort and include off-site experiences to build multi-day programs, including:

- Lagoon Beach Club, new deck area and the one-acre lagoon pool beach
