Holland America Line brought a touch of Dutch springtime to Sydney on Sunday, transforming the Southern Forecourt of the Overseas Passenger Terminal into the Tall Tulips Garden, a vibrant, larger-than-life tulip installation honouring the cruise line’s rich Dutch heritage and enduring relationship with Australia and New Zealand.

The eye-catching display marked the start of Holland America Line’s 2025–2026 Australia & New Zealand Close-to-Home season, encouraging travellers to explore the region through thoughtfully curated itineraries that highlight the beauty and diversity of local destinations.

Passers-by were drawn into a sea of vivid orange blooms, a nod to the national colour of the Netherlands and one of Holland America Line’s signature brand colours, with the Noordam ship creating an ideal backdrop. Beyond its visual impact, the activation brought to life the cruise line’s refreshed global campaign, “Savour the Journey: Experiences with us are too good to hurry through” inviting travellers to fully embrace each moment, onboard and ashore.

Holland America Line Celebrates Close-to-Home Season Launch with Sydney Tall Orange Tulip Garden

Hannah Baynes, Senior Marketing Manager of Holland America Line said: “Sunday’s installation truly captured the spirit of Holland America Line – a celebration of heritage, exploration, and taking time to savour the journey. It was the perfect way to bring our brand to life shoreside and mark the launch of our Close-to-Home season, which continues to resonate strongly with travellers seeking immersive journeys throughout Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific. It was great to see guests disembarking from Noordam and others preparing to begin their cruise, along with new travellers who engaged with the installation and were inspired to plan their next cruise with Holland America Line.”

The 2025–2026 Australia & New Zealand Close-to-Home season offers guests the opportunity to explore the region without the need for long-haul travel. With 14-day Australia and New Zealand itineraries, once-in-a-lifetime Grand Voyage adventures and Culinary Ambassador sailings, each journey is designed to connect guests more deeply with the destinations they visit. A highlight of the season will be the meet up of Volendam and Zaandam in Sydney on 7 March, bringing together two Grand Voyages.

Rooted in its Dutch tradition of genuine hospitality, Holland America Line continues to distinguish itself through exceptional service, immersive itineraries, destination-inspired dining, and perfectly mid-sized ships that offer a more personal connection to each port. Each voyage reflects the cruise line’s enduring commitment to the art of leisurely travel – where guests are invited to slow down, savour every moment and discover the world in comfort and style.
