Tourwriter, a travel operations platform for luxury and bespoke tour operators and DMCs, has launched the first certified Xero integration in the travel industry. The integration lets travel designers manage complex trips while reconciling accounts in real time.
Many travel companies still rely on spreadsheets and disconnected systems. This slows them down. By contrast, other industries have raced ahead with cloud technology. The 2024 Skift–AWS survey reveals that 67% of travel companies now run most operations in the cloud, up from 25% in 2020. For high-end operators, catching up is critical.
“Travel technology has fallen behind for too long,” said Glenn Campbell, CEO of Tourwriter. “With this integration, operators can manage bespoke itineraries while keeping their finances up to date. It’s a major step forward for the industry.”
Xero is a global cloud-based accounting platform used by millions of businesses. It supports multicurrency, real-time collaboration, and flexible workflows. Tourwriter’s integration is a Certified Xero Integration, which means it meets Xero’s standards for security, reliability, and technical excellence.
Award-winning destination management company Ahipara Luxury Travel has already seen results.
“Every payment now shows instantly in Xero and Tourwriter,” said Co-Founder Karen Jefferson. “It saves us hours and lets us focus on creating unique experiences for clients.”
Sina Zimmermann, Head of Product at Tourwriter, added:
“Our team worked closely with Xero’s experts. Xero’s Developer Evangelist told us our work sets a benchmark for how integrations should be built. Being the first in the industry to achieve this was a proud moment.”
