Skål International President, Denise Scrafton, and from a Skål International perspective, the Executive Board is thrilled to present some important recommendations to propel Skål International forward. For years, we have engaged in discussions about critical issues that hinder Skål International’s progress into the future, including membership retention and growth, supporting Skål International Clubs’ success, and creating an environment that attracts young professionals who will drive Skål International forward for decades to come while respecting the foundations we were built upon. Despite our ongoing discussions, we have yet to find a resolution to these pressing concerns.
To ensure a comprehensive strategy for the Annual General Assembly in Cusco, the majority of the Executive Board convened in Konya, Türkiye, to discuss all aspects of Skål International. We were fortunate to be fully hosted for three days in the captivating city of Konya, Türkiye, and even more fortunate to have some amazing Skålleagues sponsor our airfares to Türkiye. The majority of our Directors attended, with the option for those who preferred to connect virtually. This demonstrates the passion and commitment of our Skålleagues to shape the future of Skål International.
Our Executive Board thoroughly reviewed every aspect of Skål International, engaging in collective discussions to identify areas for improvement and develop a forward-thinking strategy. We considered the numerous discussions we had with members worldwide, facilitated by a professional facilitator, to ensure an inclusive and transparent process. This strategy emphasises open dialogue with members, rather than a select few attempting to influence our decisions. The Executive Board will now present a professional strategy for open discussion in Cusco.
We encourage all members to review and consider this strategy, embracing the future rather than dwelling on the past.
The event will also include the traditional Skål International President Gala Dinner, an evening dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of the year. Furthermore, the Annual General Assembly of Skål International will convene during the congress, where the future strategic direction of the organization will be discussed.
