Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve wins the World Spa Awards in three categories: Best Wellness Retreat in Asia, Indonesia, and Bali.

Nestled in the spiritual heart of Ubud, Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve is in a pristine rainforest along the majestic Ayung River. It is a sanctuary celebrating time-honored traditions and ancient philosophical sciences. The riverfront spa, Mandapa Spa, presents six treatment rooms, a yoga pavilion, meditation temple, vitality pool, sauna, and state-of-the-art fitness center equipped with the latest Technogym equipment. The resort is also home to a 500-year-old temple, where guests can participate in a fire blessing or a water purification ceremony with a local priest.

Traditional healing journeys are guided by local healers, each with unique techniques. Ibu Mursi, an intuitive blind healer, realigns energy patterns through bodywork and reflexology, using a secret herbal oil blend passed down from her grandfather. Pak Wayan focuses on balancing the five elements of the body through Panca Mayakosha, while Pak Ketut practices pranic acupuncture healing to harmonize the flow of chi.

The newly launched Disconnect to Reconnect program enhances guest experiences by addressing modern-day challenges, from sleep issues to digital detoxification. It offers over 23 wellness activities, including Watsu, Gong baths, Vipassana, Mandala art, breathwork, and herbal medicinal workshops.

“We are truly honored to be recognized as the Best Wellness Retreat in Asia, Indonesia, and Bali by the esteemed World Spa Awards,” expresses Eka Fritz, Director of Spa and Wellness at Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve. “Our wellness philosophy is deeply rooted in the culture and spirituality of Bali, particularly in Ubud. The name ‘Ubud’ comes from the Sanskrit word ‘Ubad,’ which means ‘healing’ or ‘medicinal,’ reflecting the region’s rich abundance of medicinal plants. Our wellness experiences are incredibly special. Guests can embark on a journey to a centuries-old temple for a blessing ceremony or meditate to the rhythms of the sacred Ayung River.”
