A Tranquil Corner in the City: Design that Embodies “Slow Living”
Returning to its roots in Central, noc’s latest branch is situated at the intersection of Des Voeux Road Central and Man Wa Lane within the Bauhinia Hotel. The design of the space is a testament to noc’s renewed commitment to “Live Slow,” encouraging guests to pause, reconnect with themselves, and savor the present moment.
Inspired by the natural textures left by coffee, the design incorporates fluid patterns and warm hues. The bar and feature wall, focal points of the space, showcase a bespoke artistic paint finish that embodies the brand’s new visual identity, seamlessly blending noc’s signature grey and white palette. At the iconic coffee bar area, the designer has crafted an edgy aluminum grille ceiling design through a creative combination of aluminum poles and lunar bar tubes. A striking, 7-meter-long lightbox crafted from washi paper and warm wood hangs above the main seating area, casting a gentle glow and enhancing the sense of intimacy. The warm wood tones and soft, Japanese-inspired washi lighting further contribute to the calming atmosphere, encouraging relaxation and mindfulness.
Bespoke Bar Seating and Mindful Details
A first for the brand, the store introduces bar seating, allowing customers to get a closer look at the meticulous process of pourover coffee brewing and engage more with the baristas. It also provides a space for solo diners to enjoy a moment of solitude. The “slow living” elements are also reflected in the details: a bookshelf encourages guests to take a break from their busy lives through reading, while a vinyl player serves as an elegant visual hook during the day and plays curated music at night, setting an immersive auditory experience for noc’s evening concept, noc.turnal.

Loaded Potato Waffle with Crabmeat Salad (HK$118) features a crispy potato waffle topped with fresh avocado, crabmeat salad, rich mayonnaise, and a perfectly cooked sunny side up egg – a delightful and layered brunch option. The Iced Pear Chamomile Tea (HK$55) combines refreshing pear tea with mint and chamomile for a subtly sweet and cooling beverage, perfect for the season.
