Hilton, the global hospitality powerhouse, is advancing in the Asia Pacific’s luxury and lifestyle sector. With more than 160 operating hotels already trading, the brand is preparing to add another 50 per cent to its portfolio over the coming years, pushing the total beyond the 250-hotel mark.

It is an audacious target that reflects both customer appetite for premium travel experiences and Hilton’s determination to dominate the luxury space. The company quickly reminds us that while the Swiss may boast precision watches and the French their Michelin stars, Asia Pacific’s new claim to fame may well be Hilton’s expanding empire of five-star delights.

From Hong Kong to Osaka – A String of Openings

Recent debuts have already signalled Hilton’s intent. Motto by Hilton Hong Kong Soho opened last month, bringing a playful, connected lifestyle concept designed for the new breed of traveller. Small but smart guest rooms, vibrant communal spaces, and food and beverage inspired by the neighbourhood promise to make it a hit with visitors and locals.

This follows the unveiling of Waldorf Astoria Osaka, a property dripping with Japanese elegance, and Secan Hotel Qingdao, part of Hilton’s Curio Collection. Together, they underscore the variety Hilton is determined to inject into the region – no cookie-cutter approach here, just a carefully curated spread of brands designed to fit their markets.

What’s Next on the Horizon

If you thought that was impressive, brace yourself. Over the next 12 months alone, Hilton will swing open the doors to:

  • Waldorf Astoria Shanghai Qiantan

  • Canopy by Hilton Shanghai Belfry Plaza

  • KROMO Bangkok, Curio Collection by Hilton

  • Kahavadi Chiang Rai, Curio Collection by Hilton

  • Nivata Koh Samui, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

And that’s just the appetiser. Looking further ahead, Waldorf Astoria Bali will debut in 2027 a milestone as Hilton brings the Waldorf name to Indonesia for the first time. Meanwhile, Singapore will welcome NoMad, and the Philippines will gain its first Canopy by Hilton in bustling Makati.

Asia Pacific: Hilton’s Growth Engine

“Asia Pacific continues to be an engine of growth for Hilton’s luxury and lifestyle brands. The appetite for distinctive, experience-led stays is stronger than ever, and Hilton is proud to lead the way in shaping the future of hospitality in this vibrant region,” said Alan Watts, President, Asia Pacific, Hilton.

Watts is not one for understatement, and with good reason. Hilton’s growth pipeline shows that the brand intends to double its presence of Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, and LXR properties across Asia Pacific. NoMad and Signia will also make their long-awaited regional debuts, while lifestyle brands such as Curio and Canopy gather strong owner interest.

Sydney, Tokyo, Delhi – Luxury Goes Global

Hilton’s luxury offensive will roll out in a list of iconic cities. Waldorf Astoria hotels are headed for Sydney, Tokyo, Delhi, Kuala Lumpur, Hanoi, Xi’an, and Bali. Conrad Hotels will plant its flags in Jaipur, Kuala Lumpur, Nagoya, Bangkok, and multiple destinations across China. Meanwhile, LXR Hotels & Resorts will debut in Bengaluru, Hiroshima, and Xi’an.

Not to be left out, Curio Collection by Hilton will expand to Bengaluru, Wuxi and Langkawi, while Canopy will pop up in Bangkok and Okinawa. Hilton’s senior vice president of Development, Asia Pacific, Clarence Tan, added with typical boardroom understatement:

“Hilton brands lead the industry in terms of rooms under construction in this region. In Asia Pacific we are on track to double our presence of Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, Conrad Hotels & Resorts and LXR Hotels & Resorts properties in Asia Pacific, while debuting NoMad and Signia by Hilton and expanding our lifestyle brands which are seeing surging interest from owners across the region.”

Sydell Group and Small Luxury Hotels – Strategic Partnerships

Hilton’s expansion is not solely about building hotels. It has also snapped up a majority stake in Sydell Group, giving it the keys to grow the chic NoMad brand worldwide. At the same time, an exclusive partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World opened the Hilton doors to hundreds of independently minded properties, expanding the choice of Hilton’s 180-million-plus loyalty members.

Hilton has added over 100 future luxury and lifestyle hotels to its global development pipeline this year alone. The maths is simple and staggering: Hilton expects to add three luxury or lifestyle hotels per week in 2025. Do the sums, and that’s another 150 hotels in a year.

The Verdict

If Asia Pacific is Hilton’s growth engine, then the throttle is wide open. The numbers speak volumes; more than 250 luxury and lifestyle hotels are in play across a region where demand for five-star hospitality shows no signs of slowing.

From the debut of Waldorf Astoria in Bali to the playful swagger of Motto in Hong Kong, Hilton is writing the next chapter of Asia Pacific’s hospitality story – one lavish suite, one rooftop bar, and one unforgettable experience at a time.
