East Coast Car Rentals, a leading provider of affordable and reliable car hire services, has officially opened its new Hobart branch, which will be accompanied by an event on Wednesday, 3 September, featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Located in Cambridge, the new purpose-built facility is now fully operational and offers a modern rental experience – housing an expanded fleet catering to all types of travellers, from solo visitors and business travellers to families setting off on Tasmanian road trips.
Rohan Marx, Managing Director at East Coast Car Rentals, says, “The opening of our new Hobart branch is another strategic step in our national expansion. Tasmania is made for road trips, and this facility allows us to better support travellers looking for affordable, flexible ways to explore the state, from Bruny Island to Cradle Mountain.
Ben Whitmore, CMO at East Coast Car Rentals added, “We’re seeing a real shift toward self-guided travel, with more Aussies opting for flexible, cost-effective ways to explore destinations like Tassie. This new branch opens at a time of strong domestic tourism and growing demand for self-drive holidays, positioning us to offer travellers a reliable, great-value way to experience the state’s iconic landscapes at their own pace.”
The branch will offer 500 vehicles across a range of categories, including compact city cars, family-sized SUVs, and eco-friendly or hybrid options for more sustainable travel. Customers will also benefit from free shuttle services to and from the airport terminal, providing customers with convenient airport access, without the premium costs typically associated with on-airport car rentals.
This latest investment builds on East Coast’s presence in Tasmania, and highlights the company’s ongoing commitment to offering accessible, reliable transport options across Australia’s most in-demand travel regions.
