More than 30 senior executives from members of The Association of Travel Management Companies (ATMC) have enjoyed exclusive behind-the scenes access to one of the country’s most significant infrastructure projects – the soon-to-open Western Sydney International Airport (WSIA).

The visit included an inspection of airside and terminal facilities, with a focus on check-in, runway operations, and security systems.

Members also learned about transport links to the CBD, the airlines already confirmed, Singapore Airlines, Air New Zealand, Qantas, and Jetstar, and the next wave of carriers expected to be announced soon.

Quotes attributable to ATMC Chair Penny Spencer:

“For our members, seeing the airport up close and understanding the access, operations, and airline plans is invaluable” Ms Spencer said.

“ATMC exists to connect our members with the information and experiences they need to stay ahead,” Ms Spencer said. “Western Sydney International is going to change the game for corporate travel, and our members are now ready to help clients make the most of it.”

The sheer scale of the project is impressive, but what stood out most was the thoughtful design centred around the passenger experience — easing anxiety, enhancing comfort, and creating an environment bathed in natural light. It’s inspiring to witness how this world-class facility will help shape the future of travel in Australia and beyond.”
