Zua Safari Lodge has introduced a new riverside spa and announced major upgrades to its campground facilities, marking a period of development for the lodge situated along the Shire River near Majete Wildlife Reserve.
The newly opened Zua Safari River Spa is being described as the first of its kind in the Shire Valley. Positioned on the banks of the river, the spa offers a range of treatments that include riverside bubble baths, traditional Malawian massages using river sand and warm stones, and revitalising manicures and pedicures. The facility is open to both lodge guests and day visitors, with advance bookings recommended.
The natural surroundings are central to the spa’s design, with the tranquil sounds and sights of the river playing a key role in the experience.
In addition to the spa, Zua Safari Lodge has also announced a series of renovations to its campground, scheduled for completion by November 2025. The planned upgrades include the installation of a new open-air kitchen, elevated tents for increased comfort, and a communal fire pit. Campsites will also feature private hot-water showers.
Guests will continue to have the option of using their own tents or overland vehicles.
The lodge, located in close proximity to Majete National Park, aims to cater to both nature enthusiasts and travellers seeking comfort. Despite the changes, lodge representatives say the atmosphere of hospitality will remain a constant.
