The Peninsula Bangkok proudly presents The Secret Roots of Thai Cuisine, an exclusive one-night-only culinary event at Thiptara, the hotel’s signature Thai restaurant. On the evening of 16 August, guests are invited on a sensory journey through the untold stories of Thai gastronomy, brought to life by two celebrated chefs: Chef Ian Kittichai, who is internationally renowned for redefining Thai cuisine on the global stage, and Chef Ying Monnipa, whose deep respect for regional flavours and cultural authenticity defines the essence of Thiptara.
This immersive four-hands collaboration delves into the cultural and culinary heritage of Thailand, weaving together royal traditions and rustic regional recipes. Using premium, locally sourced ingredients, the chefs offer an inspiring reinterpretation of time-honoured Thai dishes, each with a story rooted in memory, place, and identity.
Highlight ingredients include Mae Klong mackerel from Samut Songkhram, Kamphaeng Saen beef from Nakhon Pathom, and fragrant coconut from Trok Khao Mao. The thoughtfully curated menu is complemented by optional wine pairings, showcasing Thai terroir-driven wines that elevate the dining experience.
