Luxury river cruise line AmaWaterways has just uncorked a trade incentive so grand, it could make even the Danube blush. The company’s new “River of Rewards” campaign—boldly launched across Australia and New Zealand this week—promises not just bragging rights but an entire shipload of them.

In what can only be described as a show-stopping salute to the region’s top-performing travel advisors, AmaWaterways will be chartering its yet-to-launch jewel, the AmaSofia, for a full-ship Mega Famil sailing in August 2026. That’s right—no sales pitch here—just pure, unadulterated European river cruise luxury, with a learning twist.

From 17 July 2025 to 28 February 2026, this eight-month campaign is open to all Aussie and Kiwi advisors. The prize? A coveted berth aboard the AmaSofia for the popular Melodies of the Danube itinerary, from Budapest to Vilshofen, sailing 2–9 August 2026. Not only that, but each winning advisor gets to bring a companion. Talk about doubling down on rewards.

“This is without a doubt the biggest trade incentive AmaWaterways has offered in Australia and New Zealand,” declared Steve Richards, Managing Director AU/NZ, with the sort of confidence that would make a Hungarian vintner nod in approval.

“We’re so excited to be rewarding our advisor community in such a meaningful way, by inviting them to truly experience what makes AmaWaterways so special,” he added. “The Mega Famil is not only a celebration of top performers, but a hands-on learning journey that we hope will inspire and empower our partners to grow their river cruise business. We’re with them every step of the way.”

Let’s be clear—this is no ordinary famil. Winners will be treated to the whole AmaWaterways experience, which includes guided excursions, local wines flowing freely at dinner, gourmet onboard dining, wellness activities (for those inclined), and exclusive education sessions with guest speakers. It’s all designed to turn travel advisors into full-fledged AmaWaterways aficionados.

To take part, advisors must register at riverofrewards.com/register. And they’d be wise to do so promptly, as the first challenge—a 10-question quiz designed to test one’s mettle on AmaWaterways and the mighty Danube—is already afloat.

Throughout the campaign, participants can earn points by completing creative monthly challenges, undergoing AmaAcademy training, and collaborating with their Regional Sales Manager to boost AmaWaterways bookings. Top FIT and group bookers each month also stand to snag golden tickets aboard the AmaSofia.

The initiative shows AmaWaterways’ enduring faith in its travel partners and the line’s commitment to education and immersion as key tools for building long-term success.

So, in a world increasingly dominated by algorithms and AI, it’s reassuring to see a travel brand doing things the old-fashioned way—rewarding loyalty, celebrating excellence, and sailing into success with the help of real human connection.

One might even say it’s a return to tradition. And frankly, that’s worth raising a glass to.
