Sip and Reminisce: Hong Kong in a Glass
Each drink in Avoca’s new range of Hong Kong-inspired cocktails captures the essence of Hong Kong’s culinary culture, blending cherished memories with inventive twists. Some of these new drinks had been previously introduced as seasonal additions to the menu, but due to demand the most popular ones have now taken their position on Avoca’s permanent menu.
Ginger Pudding transforms the classic dessert into a silky blend of ginger vodka, spiced syrup, Super Lemon and cream foam—a comforting treat evoking the sweet ending of family dinners. Mums Tea is a floral blend of Fino Sherry, Chrysanthemum Vermouth, Chinese Wine Reduction Cordial and Wolfberry, reminiscent of the homemade tea so often prepared by cherished mothers.
Yum Cha Fizz captures the tradition of morning dim sum, uniting jasmine tea and jasmine gin, plum bitters, lychee, and a foamy flourish for an aromatic, social pour. V.L.T. Sour takes on the city’s favourite lemon tea, now all grown up with tea-distilled vodka, Rémy Martin VSOP, peach, pineapple, and a zing of lemon oleo. Finally, Egg Waffle gives the iconic street snack a new spin—egg waffle-washed rye,
banana oleo, egg yolk liqueur and yes—a homemade mini egg waffle garnish.
A Menu to Match the Spirits
Avoca’s updated à la carte menu is crafted to complement the cocktails, with every plate celebrating bold flavours and thoughtful pairings. The centrepiece is the Northern Thai Spiced Roasted Yellow Chicken—marinated, boneless, and served with pickled vegetables, mushroom orzo and a rich jus, inspired by the warmth and fragrance of Thailand. The Spiced Gambas Al Ajilo fuses Thai-spiced prawns and chorizo in prawn oil, lifted by lemongrass and lime leaf, and served with sourdough for dipping. For sharing, the Ham & Cheese Platter offers 24-month aged Parma ham, bresaola, artisanal salami, chef’s cheeses and more. Finally, the Buffalo & Heirloom Tomato comes with kale, mesclun greens, caramelised mixed nuts, and a salted plum vinaigrette—an Italian favourite with a Hong Kong twist.
With menus inspired by Hong Kong’s favourite flavours and a July line-up of international bar talent, Avoca brings its progressive vibe proving there’s always something new to discover, whether you’re a regular or a first-time guest.
