Asset World Corporation - logoIf you thought Bangkok had already exhausted every possible permutation of culinary panache and late-night drama, think again. Asset World Corporation (AWC), never one to play to the crowd, has flung open the velvet curtain on a spectacular new venture: Wiggle Room at Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit.

Not your average fine-dining haunt—and thank heavens for that—Wiggle Room is being billed as a multi-sensory extravaganza. Think less “table for two” and more “gastronomic Cirque du Soleil”. Scheduled to open its bejewelled doors in the fourth quarter of 2025, this 700-square-metre fever dream of culinary theatre will sit resplendently within the soon-to-debut Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit, Thailand’s first Fairmont property.

Gastronomy, With a Wink and a Wiggle

A collaboration between AWC and Bangkok’s own bon vivant impresario, Sanya Souvanna Phouma—the man behind legendary haunts like Bed Supperclub, Maggie Choo’s and Sing Sing Theatre—Wiggle Room is not so much a restaurant as it is a fully immersive performance.

Guests won’t just be eating. They’ll be starring in an edible opera, with French-Asian fusion as the lead soprano and curated art, kinetic lighting, and sensual soundscapes as the orchestra.

“It’s more than dining,” says Sanya, eyes sparkling like a disco ball at midnight. “It’s a theatre of the senses. Every plate, every spotlight, every brushstroke—it’s all part of the story.”

Contracts signed, smiles locked—Bangkok’s boldest dining theatre takes its opening bow in style.

More Stage than Steakhouse

The venue will be segmented into zones—each a character in this sensory novella. A dramatic central stage will set the tone, flanked by an open kitchen, glamorous bar, moody dining alcoves, and plush VIP nooks where Bangkok’s elite can pretend not to be seen while most certainly being watched.

Chef Franck Le Bayon, the Paris-trained maestro behind iODE Bangkok, has been enlisted to co-direct this production. Expect his signature French precision, but with rogue brushstrokes of Asian flair—perhaps wasabi whispering to foie gras.

AWC: Plotting Bangkok’s Next Act

Wallapa Traisorat, CEO and President of AWC, is nothing if not audacious regarding the future of Thai hospitality. “This isn’t just another luxury launch,” she asserts, with the kind of gravitas that could hush a roomful of influencers. “This is a flag planted in the ground. Wiggle Room symbolises a new chapter for Thailand’s cultural cachet on the world stage.”

She’s not wrong. Thailand’s culinary capital has long danced with fusing fine dining with theatrical flair, but rarely with this kind of gusto—or square meterage.

Bangkok’s High Stakes Wiggle

For Fairmont, this is a homecoming parade and a debutante ball rolled into one. General Manager Jerome Lobier is giddy: “We’re not opening a hotel. We’re creating a destination. Wiggle Room will be the crown jewel in a property that is already redefining luxury in Bangkok.”

One suspects he’s being modest. When Fairmont lands, it lands like a grand piano in a marble foyer. And Wiggle Room is set to be the grand crescendo.

Sanya’s Greatest Hit Yet?

Sanya Souvanna Phouma has always been the man with the velvet touch. With two decades of scene-stealing, he’s brought together artists, DJs, chefs, and the odd diplomat to conjure up venues that feel like lucid dreams.

Wiggle Room, he says, is the natural culmination of a life spent blurring the lines between art, cuisine and mischief. “This is the show I’ve always wanted to stage,” he says, with the quiet confidence of a man who knows his tartare from his theatre.

A Curtain Call for the Curious

Still in its concept phase, Wiggle Room is already stirring curiosity amongst Bangkok’s cultural cognoscenti and globetrotting gourmands. By its grand unveiling in late 2025, it will undoubtedly be the darling of every curated itinerary, influencer reel, and Michelin scout worth their salt.

As AWC continues its campaign to elevate Thailand’s lifestyle and hospitality credentials, this whimsical, wondrous stage is less a detour and more a declaration.

So if you’re the sort who prefers your scallops served with a side of spectacle—and your wine list paired with a rotating installation of contemporary art—make a mental note. The wiggle, dear reader, is very much real. And come Q4 2025, Bangkok’s dining scene won’t just be elevated—it’ll be electric.
