2024 - Namibia, Botswana & Victoria Falls - Jennifer Winsor (2)Bunnik Tours has officially launched its Africa program for 2026, offering Australian travellers the chance to experience the continent’s extraordinary wildlife, culture, history and landscapes in the comfort of incredibly small groups – with every tour capped at just 12 people.

Spanning five immersive journeys, the 2026 Africa collection is as diverse as the continent itself, offering everything from the sweeping plains of the Serengeti to the coastal dunes of Namibia.

With 49 departures beginning in January, the program continues Bunnik Tours’ commitment to thoughtful, responsible travel and delivering meaningful experiences in one of the world’s most awe-inspiring destinations.

“Our Africa program is truly something special. It’s one of those bucket list destinations people dream about and when they go, they want to do it right,” Bunnik Tours’ General Manager Annelieke Huijgens said.

“We keep our groups deliberately small to give our clients the best of both worlds: shared experiences, but also space and comfort.”

Each itinerary is designed to celebrate what makes Africa unique – whether it’s lunch with villagers in Tanzania, a scenic cruise in Walvis Bay in search of dolphins, seals and pelicans, a breathtaking balloon safari viewing the sights of the mighty Maasai Mara and its wildlife, or two nights in a luxury train hotel suspended above the Sabie River“Our clients want more than just a checklist of highlights – they’re after connection, authenticity and a little bit of adventure. That’s exactly what our Africa program delivers.”

Among Bunnik Tours’ standout Africa experiences in 2026:

  • 19day Kruger to Cape Town: An immersive journey through South Africa’s history, culture and cuisine, including the Apartheid Museum, Stellenbosch wine tasting, sunrise meerkat spotting and the spectacular Garden Route.
  • 21day Kenya & Tanzania: The ultimate wildlife safari, including game drives in the Serengeti and Maasai Mara, cultural encounters at Mto wa Mbu village, and a traditional bush medicine demonstration with a Maasai healer.

As a family-run business with a passion for purposeful travel, Bunnik Tours is deeply committed to protecting the people, places and cultures it visits.

“For us, it’s not just about ticking off destinations – it’s about doing the right thing by the communities who welcome us. We feel a great responsibility to support and preserve the environments we explore,” said Ms Huijgens.

For every Africa tour booked, Bunnik Tours makes a donation to Tanzeed, a Tanzanian charity helping

disadvantaged children access education, and to the Greenmanjaro Foundation, which works to protect the fragile ecosystem surrounding Mount Kilimanjaro.

Through its Kilimanjaro Climate Care Projects, Greenmanjaro delivers school-based education programs that teach children how to recycle, grow food, and combat the impact of deforestation and climate change. Funds also support clean-up days, tree planting initiatives, and school garden infrastructure.

“We’re proud to support projects that leave a lasting impact. It means our clients can travel in a way that’s meaningful, connected and future focused,” she said.

“We’re proud to keep doing Africa our way – responsibly, authentically and always with the client experience top of mind.”
