The 2025 Minto US Open Pickleball Championships, powered by Margaritaville, once again delivered on its title as The Biggest Pickleball Party in the World™, drawing more than 55,000 attendees and 3,450 athletes from all 50 states and 40 countries to the USOP National Pickleball Center at East Naples Community Park, April 26–May 3.
Now in its 9th year, the US Open further solidified its reputation as the world’s premier pickleball tournament. A robust lineup of premium sponsors powered the week, including Minto, Margaritaville, Naples–Marco Island–Everglades (Florida’s Paradise Coast), Franklin Sports, Skechers, JOOLA, and Wilson. Their continued support enabled significant enhancements to the event experience, such as JOOLA Junior Championships, a redesigned Zing Zang Championship Court with LED signage and premium suites, and a broader Vendor Village as well as the new Baldwin Wellness Center, featuring over 30 interactive sponsor activations.
A Moment in Sports History: Agassi Meets the Open
One of the most talked-about moments of the week occurred when world #1 Anna Leigh Waters partnered with tennis legend Andre Agassi, who competed in his first professional pickleball event at the US Open. Their appearance drew national attention and captivated fans as they won their opening match against rising juniors Stevie Petropouleas and Tristan Dussault. Later that day, Agassi and Waters were edged out in a third-set tiebreaker by Len Yang and Trang Huynh-McClain.
Youth Shine Bright: First Junior Triple Crown Awarded
The US Open also introduced the inaugural JOOLA Junior Championships, the largest youth pickleball competition in the country. The tournament crowned Indigo Dagnall as the first-ever Junior Triple Crown winner, earning gold in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles—joining an elite class of US Open champions.
Elite Competition & Unmatched Energy
Matches were held across pro, senior pro, amateur, junior and wheelchair divisions, with a progressive format for pro brackets providing maximum visibility for high-level play. The week concluded with Arthrex Championship Saturday, where Gold, Silver and Bronze medals were won on the iconic Zing Zang Championship Court. For the second year in the row, the exceptional mother-daughter duo of Leigh Waters and Anna Leigh Waters captured Gold in pro women’s doubles defeating Jillian Braverman and Megan Fudge.
Off the court, attendees experienced all the hallmarks of the US Open atmosphere—live music, food trucks, shaded seating, premium amenities, and a vibrant Vendor Village—making it more than a tournament, but a true integration of sport and community.
