Thailand’s royal resort town is dusting off its green jackets and polishing the fairways as the Centara World Masters Golf Championship returns for its much-anticipated tenth edition from 8th to 14th June 2025.
The annual amateur golfing gala – affectionately known as the “Wimbledon of the Weekend Warriors” – has grown into one of Asia’s grandest golfing get-togethers. This year, more than 450 passionate players from over 25 countries are expected to descend on Hua Hin, not only to chase birdies but to relive old friendships and forge new ones on three of Thailand’s crown-jewel courses: the legendary Black Mountain Golf Club, the lush Pineapple Valley, and the ever-majestic Springfield Royal Country Club.
To put it plainly, this isn’t your average hit-and-giggle. This is where lifelong stories are made, handicaps are tested, and the après-golf social calendar is almost as competitive as the rounds themselves.
“Sure, there’s a bit of golf,” grins Mark Siegel, Managing Director of Golfasian, who co-hosts the event. “But the real scorecard is tallied in friendships formed and stories swapped over cocktails at Centara’s beachfront bar.”
Over the past decade, the Centara World Masters has evolved into more than just a tournament; it’s a movement. More than 3,700 players have strutted down its fairways, many returning year after year like migratory golfers, drawn by the unbeatable blend of Thai hospitality, competitive camaraderie, and a seaside resort town that knows how to treat its guests right.
Peter McCarthy, founder of Australia’s Go Golfing, puts it best: “The Centara World Masters isn’t just an event, it’s a reunion in disguise – a kind of global clubhouse where everyone knows your name… or at least your handicap.”
The 2025 edition promises to be the most electric yet. With Centara Hotels & Resorts pulling out all the stops – from sunset welcome parties to gala dinners that rival black-tie film premieres – it’s not just about the game. It’s about making memories in one of Thailand’s most cherished destinations.
Indeed, as Thailand doubles down on luxury golf tourism, Hua Hin is proudly planting its flag as the region’s unofficial fairway capital. With palm-fringed beaches, regal heritage, and a golf culture that rivals St Andrews (only warmer), this coastal gem is a natural home for the Masters.
So, pack your polos, shine your spikes, and don’t forget the sunscreen. The Centara World Masters is turning ten – and in true Thai style, it plans to celebrate with heart, hospitality, and just a touch of handicap mischief.
