With an in-depth knowledge of the des=na=on and a crea=ve approach to hospitality, Stephanie’s appointment strengthens the seaside hotel’s leadership team and amplifies Gardiner House’s dis=nctly Newport perspec=ve.
Speaking to her appointment, Stephanie remarks: “I am beyond thrilled to join the incredible team at Gardiner House to affirm the hotel’s posi=on within the colorful fabric of Newport and further establish the property as a leader in the luxury hospitality space. A passionate and accomplished hospitality professional, Stephanie brings to Gardiner House an in=mate knowledge of the des=na=on having spent summers in Newport growing up before calling the city her home in 2002. Her hospitality career began behind the bar, rising through the ranks to general manager before making the shiN into luxury hotels. Stephanie’s comprehensive exper=se spans over a decade of sales, catering, and management experience at renowned proper=es throughout Rhode Island, including Ocean House Management Collec=on and Castle Hill Inn, the later where she most recently served as Senior Sales Manager, genera=ng an impressive porSolio for the esteemed Newport property. Stephanie’s previous roles also include Sales and Event Manager at Weekapaug Inn, Manager of Catering Sales and Events at Planta=on Catering, and General Manager of Rhino Bar and Grille.
Led by co-owners and local Newporters, Howard Cushing and Wirt Blaffer, Gardiner House transports its guests to an enchanted world of art, whimsy, culinary delights and breathtaking views of Newport Harbor. The 21-room property’s residen=ally inspired architecture and interior design embrace the fabric of Newport’s arSul history, drawing much of its design story and crea=ve roots from Cushing’s greatgrandfather, American ar=st Howard Gardiner Cushing, and his nearby family home, The Ledges, built in 1867.
