Spread the love

For the entire month of May, five bars across Australia will offer every wine on their list by the glass, giving guests the opportunity to explore exceptional drops without committing to a full bottle. The experience is part of the Coravin World Wine Tour, which returns in a brand-new format with an expanded footprint across five states, including two first-time stops. Using Coravin’s pioneering by-the-glass tools, the tour allows wine lovers to discover rare and diverse wines that are usually only accessible by the bottle.

This year’s Coravin World Wine Tour encompasses Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide, with Perth and Noosa joining the line-up for the first time. To get involved, wine lovers can drop into one of the five participating venues to access their cellar and taste through their entire wine list by the glass throughout the month of May.

Participating venues include five of Australia’s coolest wine bars – Love, Tilly Devine (Sydney), Clover (Melbourne), Jennie Wine Bar (Adelaide), Atelier Wine Bar (Noosa), and Shadow Wine Bar (Perth).

Coravin’s three pioneering wine-by-the-glass tools are trusted by sommeliers and wine enthusiasts around the world to keep wine fresh for weeks, months, or even years after it has first been tasted. The wine-by-the-glass systems, designed for use with wines under cork, screw cap, and even sparkling wines, use precision-engineered needle technology, and inert gas to ensure you can enjoy a glass while the bottle stays as fresh as the first pour.

In Sydney, the Coravin World Wine Tour will grace the iconic laneway bar Love, Tilly Devine. The Darlinghurst wine bar boasts an extensive list of wines from around the world. With 150 bottles to choose from, guests can sip their way through the list or pair a glass or two with dishes from the European-inspired bar menu.

James Griffin, Beverage Manager comments, “At Love, Tilly Devine, we’ve always showcased winemakers who are taking risks and doing things a little differently, and we love championing producers using skin-contact and low intervention in their winemaking. While we do offer a succinct list of wines by the glass, excitingly our partnership with Coravin means that guests can try a glass of any of the 150 pioneering bottles we offer.

It’s really going to, quite literally, open up the possibilities for our guests to try something new, and allow our team to open more and more of their favourite wines; some a little unusual, and all delicious. A few to look out for are the incredible skin contact wines of Staffelter Hof (the world’s oldest working winery at nearly 1,200 years old), Patrick Sullivan’s superb Victorian single-vineyard chardonnays, and the irresistible Poppelvej wines of Uffe Deichmann, McLaren Vale’s best lo-fi Danish winemaker, plus low-intervention and skin contact wines from all over Australia and the rest of the world.”

In Perth, Shadow Wine Bar will be hosting the Coravin World Wine Tour. The elegant escape from the bustle of Northbridge offers an extensive food and wine menu in a sleek, industrial space. Located in the city’s arts precinct and known for its Italian-inspired dishes, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy dinner and drinks before a show. The impressive list features producers such as Occhipinti, COS, Farvie, Ochota Barrels, Juniper Estate, Picardy, and Dormilona.

Melburnians can visit Clover Wine Bar in Richmond, for an extensive menu of natural wines to accompany the bistro wine bar’s signature dishes cooked over fire.

Adelaide wine lovers can experience the Coravin World Wine Tour at Jennie Wine Bar. The cosy, cellar-style bar known for bottles lining the walls offers an exciting array of local and international wines. It’s an intimate space designed for exploration where guests can browse the shelves and try anything that catches their eye.

Atelier Wine Bar will be bringing the Coravin World Wine Tour to Noosa. The sophisticated space with floor-to-ceiling wine shelves and a cave-like atmosphere is the ultimate spot to settle in, sip on rare finds, and enjoy a menu of refined share plates.

Since its creation over a decade ago, Coravin has shaped the hospitality industry, by allowing bars and restaurants the ability to greatly expand their by-the-glass wine lists, thanks to its range of tools.

Through its World Wine Tour, Coravin aims to make a more diverse and exciting array of drops accessible to wine lovers all over the world. Coravin’s Founder, Greg Lambrecht comments, “We are delighted that the Australian Coravin World Wine Tour will enable venues to present all their wines by the glass throughout the month of May. This creates a fantastic experience for guests to explore different wines.

“A new generation of wine drinkers are increasingly curious, adventurous, and willing to experiment with new varieties and styles. Offering more wines by the glass allows drinkers to find their new favourite variety, region, or style, without taking the risk of buying a whole bottle. We are delighted to be working with five iconic Australian wine destinations to bring our World Wine Tour to five states, giving Australian wine lovers an unparalleled level of choice for wine by-the-glass.”

To experience the tour, wine lovers should book visits to participating venues from the 1st to the 31st of May. Reservations are recommended.
