Luxury resort group Aman has announced the name of its first seagoing vessel, a motor yacht currently under construction in Italy and due to launch in 2027.
The vessel will be called Amangati, which Aman says means “peaceful motion” in Sanskrit. It marks a new chapter for the high-end hospitality brand known for its low-key, high-price retreats from Bhutan to the Caribbean.
The name was revealed this week following a keel-laying ceremony in Genoa last July – a traditional maritime milestone.
Designed by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design and built by Italian shipyard T. Mariotti S.p. A., Amangati is part of what Aman calls its “Aman at Sea” project, first announced in 2021.

The yacht, at 183 metres long (about 600 feet), will carry only 47 suites – each with a private balcony – in keeping with Aman’s philosophy of minimalist luxury. The group says the onboard experience is designed to reflect the same “effortless flow” and “forward motion” symbolised by the name.
Amenities on board will include four restaurants, a jazz club, a Japanese-style garden spa, and an expansive beach club at the yacht’s stern, offering direct access to the water.
The yacht will also feature green technology, including battery-powered propulsion, to reduce its environmental footprint.
Aman Chairman and CEO Vlad Doronin described the vessel’s naming as a “pivotal and inspiring milestone” for the company.
“The vessel will embody the very essence of our brand’s DNA,” Doronin said in a statement, “providing exceptional privacy, best-in-class amenities, and our signature unparalleled service not yet experienced on the water.”
Construction is scheduled to continue over the next two years. The yacht’s inaugural voyages are expected to launch from the Mediterranean during the 2027 summer season. It will also be available for private charter.
Itineraries and bookings have yet to be announced.
