Norwegian Cruise Line® (NCL) has been announced as a major partner for the 72nd Sydney Film Festival, running from 4 to 15 June, 2025.

As the Official Presenting Partner of SFFTV, NCL will bring festival audiences an outdoor cinema experience in the Martin Place precinct of Vivid Sydney.

Under the banner ‘SFFTV presented by Norwegian Cruise Line’, the space will feature free public screenings, exclusive festival content, and an immersive activation showcasing NCL’s signature approach to global travel and exploration – spanning both close-to-home and international holiday destinations.

Ben Angell, VP and MD Asia Pacific, NCL, said: “We are proud to partner with the Sydney Film Festival, a collaboration that speaks to our shared passion for world-class entertainment.

“Film is one of the top interests among Norwegian Cruise Line’s guests, making this a natural fit. The partnership also comes at a perfect time as we debut our Silver Screen Bistro on Norwegian Breakaway – the world’s first immersive cinema and dining experience at sea. NCL is committed to delivering MORE at sea, and we’re excited to bring this collaboration to life in ways that film lovers and cruise guests alike will enjoy, so stay tuned for more.”

Sydney Film Festival CEO Frances Wallace welcomed the partnership, highlighting NCL’s alignment with the festival’s celebration of global storytelling. “Sydney Film Festival connects audiences with stories from across the world, and Norwegian Cruise Line shares that same spirit of discovery and adventure,” she said. “NCL’s support will elevate SFFTV, creating an exciting space for audiences to experience cinema in the heart of the city.”

As part of the partnership, Sydney Film Festival attendees that purchase a subscription or flexipass will also have the chance to win the ultimate Mediterranean holiday with NCL on a nine-day cruise aboard Norwegian Breakaway. Full details on the competition are available here.

The 72nd Sydney Film Festival will take place across Greater Sydney at iconic venues including the State Theatre, Event Cinemas George Street, Dendy Cinemas Newtown, Randwick Ritz, Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace Cremorne, Palace Cinemas Central and Norton Street, the Art Gallery of NSW, Casula Powerhouse, Sydney Town Hall, and more, including SFFTV presented by Norwegian Cruise Line in Martin Place.
