  • Within the last two years, Greater Palm Springs has seen a boom in new and improved infrastructure for both travelers and meeting planners.   • The new and hot Thompson Palm Springs, which debuted in the fall of 2024 right in the heart of downtown Palm Springs, offers more than 8,000 square feet of event space that is accompanied by a dedicated team of staff to assist with all planning needs. Thompson Palm Springs offers a brand-new, 168-room modern oasis that blends midcentury sophistication with the natural beauty of its surroundings.

  • Greater Palm Springs has also become a major hub for sports and entertainment since the opening of Acrisure Arena, a $300 million, 11,0000-capacity venue, which opened at the end of 2022. The venue has brought in world-renowned acts from across the globe and is home to the Coachella Valley Firebirds ice hockey team, with up to 27,000 square feet of floor space, including state-of-the-art event spaces, and four premium hospitality clubs. The destination is also home to the Palm Springs Convention Center, which became the first convention center in California to be certified as an Autism Center in February 2024, alongside other meeting locations and VGPS partners across the desert including the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa, the Living Desert Zoo & Gardens, and more. The Convention Center is a world-class facility that spans an impressive 261,000 square feet and has undergone training ensuring its staff are equipped with the skills and resources necessary to create a more welcoming environment for autistic and sensory-sensitive patrons.

  • Add some thrill to your next meeting at the BMW Performance Center. Gather the team and bond over a corporate driving experience with some exciting time on the track, followed by delicious cuisine and access to various meeting rooms for group sessions. Want to have your meeting at the peak of a mountain?! The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway can bring your team to an elevation of 8,516 feet with gorgeous views of the 14,000-acre Mount San Jacinto State Park and Wilderness Area. For a more active meeting, join Big Wheels Tours for a memorable 20-mile Earthquake Canyon Express Downhill Bike Adventure. Another option is Desert Adventures Red Jeep Tours, which does the driving for you during a guided Jeep excursion.

  • Beyond the impressive venues, Greater Palm Springs is also more accessible for air travelers than ever, with flights from 30+ nonstop cities and growing, including a new seasonal route between Washington D.C. and PSP that recently launched.

  • Businesses looking to host during Greater Palm Springs’ off-peak season can take advantage of the Meeting Oasis Incentive. Visit GPS will provide clients with a rebate that can be utilized for facility rental, food & beverage expenditures, audio-visual expenses, or other meetings-related fees. The credit will be awarded based on 70% pick up of paid and consumed rooms at one of our destination hotels and resorts.
