In a landmark move poised to redefine European tourism routes, global aviation titan Emirates has officially renewed its partnership with Tourism Ireland for another two years. This bold, strategic alliance aims to significantly increase inbound travel to Ireland from key markets, including Australia, New Zealand, and the UAE.
The renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed by Barry Brown, Divisional Vice President Australasia at Emirates, and Sofia Hansson, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Australia and New Zealand, signals a fortified commitment to elevating Ireland’s profile as a must-visit destination for discerning travellers.
“This renewed partnership reinforces Ireland’s value as a cultural and heritage-rich gateway to Europe,” said Barry Brown. “We remain steadfast in our mission to support Ireland’s tourism vision and to share the story of this extraordinary island with the world—especially our customers across Australia, New Zealand, and the broader Emirates network.”
The agreement sets the stage for dynamic co-branded campaigns, high-impact advertising, and collaborative initiatives to spotlight Ireland’s ancient charm, modern cities, and magnetic appeal. By leveraging Emirates’ expansive route map and Tourism Ireland’s destination marketing expertise, the partnership seeks to spark renewed interest and inspire more leisure travel to the Emerald Isle.
Since launching its inaugural Dublin–Dubai service in January 2012, Emirates has flown over 3 million passengers on one of its most profitable and in-demand European routes. The airline’s double daily flights to Dublin aboard the wide-body Boeing 777-300ER provide up to 1,440 passenger seats, streamlining travel between Australasia and Ireland with unmatched comfort and efficiency.
Moreover, Emirates’ hub in Dubai continues to offer Australians and New Zealanders an ideal stopover en route to Europe. With world-class lounges, minimal transit times, and premium onboard services, Emirates ensures the journey is as remarkable as the destination.
“As an island nation, we’ve long understood the critical importance of accessibility to tourism growth,” said Sofia Hansson. “With Emirates as a trusted partner, we can tap into high-potential markets and turn inspiration into visitation. This collaboration will help position Ireland front and centre on the travel wish lists of Aussies and Kiwis alike.”
This partnership renewal aligns with Tourism Ireland’s broader global strategy to attract 20 million overseas visitors annually by 2030, a goal that prioritizes aviation access and cross-border collaboration.
