Young Hospitality Summit - LogoCelebrating its milestone 15th edition, the Young Hospitality Summit (YHS), the largest student-led hospitality event worldwide, returns to the prestigious EHL Hospitality Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland, from March 17 to March 19, 2025. Embracing the bold theme, “Innovation Across Dimensions,” the summit is poised to redefine traditional hospitality boundaries and pioneer meaningful solutions to some of the industry’s most pressing global challenges, notably overtourism, sustainable air travel, and emerging alternative lodging.

Established in 2010 by visionary students from EHL Hospitality Business School, YHS has consistently grown into a globally acclaimed event, uniquely bridging aspiring hospitality leaders with seasoned professionals. Over the past 14 years, this summit has welcomed thousands of students from leading hospitality schools globally, transforming into an influential platform where young innovators and industry veterans collaborate to shape the future of hospitality.

Reflecting on the significance of this 15th anniversary, the summit honours its founders’ original ambition by emphasizing forward-thinking approaches toward managing resources, enhancing quality standards, and strategically addressing the mounting challenge of overtourism. The event promises an immersive experience through compelling keynote speeches, dynamic panel discussions, and interactive workshops designed to spark innovative thinking and actionable solutions.

Highlighting the impressive lineup for YHS 2025 are keynote speakers renowned for their transformative leadership within the hospitality sector. Dr. Carole Ackermann, Chairwoman of EHL’s Board of Directors and President of the EHL Board of Trustees, will deliver insightful perspectives alongside Ludovic Du Plessis, the influential President and CEO of Maison Telmont, and Nicholas Mellis, Vice-President of European Acquisitions at Highgate.

Participants at YHS 2025 will have the unique opportunity to delve deeply into critical industry topics through thoughtfully curated panel discussions. A standout session will feature an incisive retrospective on the summit’s growth and evolution, setting the stage for discussions on groundbreaking food and beverage innovations and sustainable management of overtourism.

Significantly, the summit continues its tradition of dynamic collaboration by partnering with STR Share Center for the highly anticipated YHS Challenge. This year, the challenge will directly confront the escalating global issue of overtourism under the evocative theme “Overtourism: Keeping the Balance.” Teams will compete by presenting innovative, practical solutions, potentially revolutionizing hospitality management practices worldwide.

Interactive workshops that provide participants with hands-on experiences aimed at nurturing collaborative innovation will further enhance this year’s summit. These workshops will equip attendees with essential skills to tackle future hospitality challenges, encouraging active participation, teamwork, and creative problem-solving.

As YHS celebrates 15 successful editions, the organizing committee, comprised of over 40 dedicated EHL students, confidently anticipates another landmark year. “Our mission has always been clear—inspiring, innovating, and leading. With each year, our responsibility grows and our ambition stronger,” noted the organizing committee. They promise attendees will witness and actively contribute to shaping hospitality’s future.

In 2023, YHS underwent a significant rebranding from Young Hoteliers Summit to Young Hospitality Summit, symbolizing its expanding focus beyond traditional hotel management into broader hospitality and service sectors. This effectively positions YHS at the forefront of industry evolution.
