Visit SLO CAL - LogoIn an exciting move to redefine wine culture, Visit SLO CAL® (VSC), the official destination marketing and management organization (DMMO) for San Luis Obispo County, has unveiled ‘Wine-O-One’—a dynamic, social-forward video series designed to break down the barriers of wine appreciation. Launching on February 18, National Drink Wine Day, the campaign, developed in collaboration with Travel Paso and the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance (PRWCA), invites a new generation to experience wine without the pretension.

With over 250 wineries spanning two of California’s most prestigious American Viticultural Areas (Paso Robles Wine Country and the SLO Coast Wine Region), SLO CAL is a beacon of diverse, approachable, and immersive wine experiences. ‘Wine-O-One’ is more than a campaign; it’s a movement to make wine enjoyable for everyone—whether you’re a seasoned enthusiast or a newcomer eager to explore.

Rewriting the Rules of Wine Appreciation

“We are thrilled to introduce ‘Wine-O-One,’ a campaign that makes wine feel accessible, fun, and far from intimidating,” said Cathy Cartier, President & CEO of Visit SLO CAL. “Through this campaign, we invite visitors to immerse themselves in SLO CAL’s unique wine scene, emphasizing connection, enjoyment, and discovery. Wine isn’t just about tradition—it’s about shared experiences and great memories.”

Breaking away from the traditional, often intimidating approach to wine, ‘Wine-O-One’ celebrates inclusivity and invites people to sip, swirl, and savour without the pressure of knowing technical terms. Whether understanding the nuances of varietals or simply enjoying a glass with friends, the campaign aims to show that wine culture belongs to everyone.

A New Way to Experience Wine

The eight-episode video series introduces viewers to the vibrant personalities behind SLO CAL’s wineries, offering an engaging and lighthearted approach to wine education. Expect an insider’s look at:

  • How to taste wine like a pro (without the intimidation)
  • The stories behind SLO CAL’s renowned winemakers
  • Tips for pairing wine with everyday moments—not just fine dining
  • What makes Paso Robles and the SLO Coast Wine Region unique

“SLO CAL is deeply rooted in community, and wine is at the heart of that connection,” said Stacie Jacob, CEO of Travel Paso. “‘Wine-O-One’ is about showcasing the craftsmanship and passion behind each bottle in a way that resonates with today’s audience. We want to invite a new generation to explore and enjoy wine—not as a connoisseur’s pursuit, but as a shared experience that enriches life’s moments.”

The Wine Scene—Evolved

By engaging with winemakers who share their authentic, unfiltered stories, ‘Wine-O-One’ presents a side of wine culture that is often overlooked: the joy, the laughter, and the memories created over a shared bottle.

Joel Peterson, Executive Director of the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance, reinforced this message: “‘Wine-O-One’ is about celebrating the people behind the wines and the places they come from. Whether you’re new to wine or a seasoned collector, we want to show that SLO CAL is the perfect place to relax, sip, and explore.”
