Vietjet has once again been recognised as one of the world’s safest airlines for 2025 under the low-cost category by AirlineRatings, the renowned airline safety and product rating website.
Vietjet has consistently ranked among AirlineRatings’ top 10 safest low-cost airlines for many consecutive years, underscoring the airline’s exceptional commitment to flight safety and ensuring peace of mind for both passengers and crew.
In Australia, Vietjet offers direct flights from major cities, including routes connecting Ho Chi Minh City to Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney, as well as service from Hanoi to Melbourne and Sydney.
In its annual evaluation, AirlineRatings monitored 385 global airlines, considering factors such as incident records over the past two years, fleet age, results of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) country audits, and other safety measures.
AirlineRatings.com CEO Sharon Petersen said: “Vietjet’s fleet is the youngest in Vietnam and features aircraft among the newest in the Asia-Pacific region. Vietjet’s safety record throughout the years speaks for its outstanding achievements.”
AirlineRatings has also awarded Vietjet a seven-star safety rating, the highest available, recognising the airline’s consistent commitment to safety.
Vietjet currently operates a modern and fuel-efficient Airbus fleet, with a technical reliability rate of 99.7%, ranking among the top operators in both the region and globally.
In 2024, the airline added ten new aircraft to its fleet, bringing the total to 115 aircraft, serving over 170 domestic and international routes. At the same time, Vietjet continues to invest in training, maintenance, and engineering to uphold the highest safety standards in its operations. Vietjet Aviation Academy (VJAA), a training partner of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), ensures a steady pool of highly skilled aviation personnel. The airline is also expanding the recruitment of pilots and cabin crew to support its global flight network expansion strategy.
