WiT (Web in Travel), the leading platform for discussions and insights on online travel in Asia Pacific, is excited to announce its return to Cape Town for WiT Africa 2025. The highly anticipated event will take place on March 13, 2025, at Innovation City in Cape Town.
There will also be a Next Generation Leaders Roundtable held on March 12. WiT Africa will bring together industry leaders, innovators, and executives from across the travel and technology sectors to explore the critical “Sliding Doors” moment facing the African online travel landscape.
The theme for WiT Africa 2025 is “Next Generation”. The event will acknowledge the generational shifts happening in demographics, technology, and distribution, especially with Gen AI’s impact. WiT Africa will address how these changes affect marketing, distribution, and tech throughout the value chain. It will be about honouring this pivotal moment in travel’s history to create an industry fit for the next generation of travelers, talent, and leaders.
“We are thrilled to be returning to Cape Town for WiT Africa 2025,” said Siew Hoon Yeoh, Founder of WiT. “With ‘Next Generation’ as our theme, we are recognizing the profound ‘Sliding Doors’ moment the African travel industry is facing. We are at a critical juncture – either we get on or get off – and this event will provide a crucial platform for the industry to collectively decide how to move forward and build a future that embraces the next generation of travelers, talent, and leaders.”
WiT Africa was first launched as a virtual edition in 2021 to form a bridge between Africa and Asia, to share lessons and best practices across regions. In 2024, it was launched as a physical event in partnership with Innovation City and Travelstart. With Africa soon be the world’s biggest population at 1.72 billion by 2023 – and even more significant, 477 million of those will be young people, between 15 and 35 – it will without doubt rise to be a significant force shaping online travel.
