AEON Thailand Foundation, led by Ms. Suporn Wattanavekin (center), Chairperson of AEON Thailand Foundation, and Mr. Toshiya Shimakata (2nd from right), Managing Director of AEON Thana Sinsap (Thailand) Public Company Limited, in collaboration with Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), represented by Mr. Wirat Manassanitwong (2nd from left), Deputy Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and partners, announced the success of the “AEON Digital Loy Krathong” at Lan Khon Mueang (Bangkok City Hall), The Giant Swing, and Wat Suthat Thepwararam. The festival was grandly held on the night of the Loy Krathong and served as a highlight promoting cultural tourism and environmental conservation in Bangkok, the event received enthusiastic support from local and international visitors. The organizer generously donated over two million baht to support the restoration project Satta Maha Sathan at Wat Suthat Thepwararam without any deductions. This initiative further demonstrates AEON Thailand Foundation’s continued dedication to building sustainable communities through the preservation of culture and the protection of the environment.
“AEON Digital Loy Krathong” featured the theme “Symphony of River,” in 2024 combining modern technology with Thai traditions and environmental awareness. The event featured over 2,000 digital Krathongs through Projection Mapping, along with more than 50 stalls offering food, drinks, and Thai classic fair games. Additionally, the event showcased a giant Krathong at the Giant Swing, a lantern floating ceremony honoring the Buddha’s footprint, AR photo with the starving demon (Preta), and a once-a-year moon bathing ritual at Wat Suthat Thepwararam to bring blessings.
The activities organized by AEON Thailand Foundation to celebrate the Loy Krathong Festival this year at Lan Khon Mueang and fundraising at Wat Suthat Thepwararam allow the public to make donations via QR code. The total amount raised was over two million baht, all of which was donated to the temple to support the restoration project Satta Maha Sathan at Wat Suthat Thepwararam without any deductions.
