SeaLink K’gari’s Kingfisher Bay Resort proudly launched Illumina, Queensland’s first permanent light show, last month. This spectacular production has transformed the western shores of K’gari (Fraser Island) into an immersive after-dark experience, celebrating the intricate ecosystem of the world’s largest sand island.
Set against K’gari’s World Heritage-listed landscape, Illumina combines cutting-edge lighting and sound to illuminate the island’s natural beauty in a vivid and enchanting way. Guests are taken on a journey through light, colour, and sound, exploring the island’s unique landscapes, flora, and fauna as night falls.
The show is presented nightly in the 75-seat amphitheatre to guests staying at Kingfisher Bay Resort, and in its first 50+ days, nearly 4,000 people have been mesmerised by the immersive multi-sensory lightshow experience. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, exceeding expectations for participants of all ages.
