The Australian Travel Careers Council (ATCC) has elevated its mission of championing travel and tourism careers by appointing two esteemed leaders to its Advisory Board. Kellie Stanbury, General Manager of Helloworld Business Travel, and Barry Mayo, former Director of House of Travel Holdings N.Z. and Chair of Travel Managers Australia, bring decades of industry experience to the organization.

Advancing Careers from Classrooms to Industry Success

Established in 2011, the ATCC is a not-for-profit organization that fosters a sustainable talent pipeline for the travel and tourism industry. ATCC bridges the gap between students and the workforce through initiatives like the Travel Ambassador Program, which mainly focuses on engaging youth from regional and rural communities. By partnering with schools, vocational education and training (VET) institutions, and industry bodies, ATCC ensures graduates are equipped for their careers and remain committed to the industry in the long term.

The organization’s advocacy extends beyond career pathways. It is critical in influencing federal and state government policies tied to the national training system, including the SIT Training Package for Tourism, Travel, and Hospitality. By collaborating with regulatory entities such as the Jobs and Skills Council (Service and Creative Skills Australia) and NSW Industry Training Advisory Body (ITAB), ATCC ensures that training frameworks align with current and future industry demands.
