W Melbourne is teaming up with Piccolo Panini Bar to bring the panini party to the CBD for the first time. From Tuesday 29 October – Friday 1 November, Piccolo Panini Bar will be taking over W Melbourne, bringing their signature vibes and iconic panino menu to Culprit café, as well as launching a new creation that will be available on W Melbourne’s in-room and poolside dining menus for a limited time.
The ethos of “no panini, no party” will be brought to life at W Melbourne, with a DJ pumping tunes into Collins Arch precinct between 10am and 3pm each day. Work lunches will get that bit more exciting when you stop by Culprit throughout the partnership with the chance to try Piccolo’s full menu served by the staff that bring Piccolo Panini Bar to life, who are hopping on their vespas and heading to the CBD for a week of fun.
The two brands have teamed up to launch a showstopping limited edition panino, The Salsiccia – The Italian Hotdog. The panino features a freshly toasted ciabatta bread roll sliced down the middle, layered with provolone cheese and loaded with a flavoursome mixture of Italian pork and fennel sausage, roasted peppers and caramelised onions. Crispy rosemary potatoes, straight from the fryer, add both crunch and depth to the already mouthwatering offering. To top it off, because all good hotdogs need a tomato sauce, the panino is finished with a freshly blended Napoli sauce and fresh basil.
The partnership marks the first time Piccolo Panini Bar has ventured from its iconic Hawthorn haunt and brought its menu to a new audience. Since opening its doors in November 2023, co-founders and childhood best friends Damian Iaconis and Stephen Hatzikourtis have built a loyal following, with Melburnians regularly lining up around the block to get their hands on panini that are equally as delicious as they are photographable.
W Melbourne is a luxury hotel that takes inspiration from Melbourne’s iconic laneways and electric hospitality scene, bringing the energy of Melbourne into every element of the hotel’s rooms, suites and vibrant restaurants and bars. The partnership with Piccolo Panini Bar is just the next step in W Melbourne’s commitment to partner with some of Melbourne’s most influential brands and remain at the forefront of the city’s hospitality trends.
Piccolo Panini Bar co-founders Damian Iaconis and Stephen Hatzikourtis say “If you had told us a year ago that we would be partnering with a luxury Marriott brand to bring our panini to their menus, we wouldn’t have believed you. We are excited to be bringing our panini party to the CBD and can’t wait for everyone to try The Salsiccia – The Italian Hotdog, it may just be our best creation yet.”
General Manager at W Melbourne and Marriott Multi-Property Vice President, Luxury Hotels Australia Krister Svensson says “W Melbourne strives to bring the best of Melbourne’s food and beverage offerings to our customers and we have found the perfect partners in Piccolo Panini Bar. They celebrate the importance of quality ingredients and embody the fact that food is something to enjoy, bringing their passion and fun energy to everything they do. We look forward to them bringing that energy to our hotel.”
Piccolo Panini Bar’s full menu including the beloved Caprese, Prosciutto, Salami, Mortadella, Cotoletta and new The Salsiccia panino will be available from Culprit, located at W Melbourne within Collins Arch, between 10am and 3pm from Tuesday 29 October to Friday 1 November.
For those staying at W Melbourne The Salsiccia will also be available on W Melbourne’s in-room dining menu and at the WET Deck.
