The Peninsula Bangkok is delighted to announce Gastronomic Masterpieces, an exclusive fine dining event that will showcase the talents of the hotel’s three newly appointed executive chefs. This exceptional culinary experience will take place on Thursday, 21 November 2024, featuring a seven-course menu that highlights luxurious ingredients such as Prunier caviar and the finest selections from Jagota.
The event will introduce Executive Chef Hans Zahner, Executive Pastry Chef Jimmy Boulay, and Executive Chinese Chef Dicky To, each bringing a wealth of international expertise and innovation, promising to deliver not only an extraordinary experience during the Gastronomic Masterpieces event but also to elevate the hotel’s overall dining offerings.
Guests will embark on a sophisticated culinary journey, indulging in exquisitely crafted dishes paired with world-class wines in the elegant setting of Jesters, with a beautiful view of the Chao Phraya River from a private balcony. The evening promises to be an unforgettable celebration of gourmet cuisine, with each course masterfully prepared by one of the three executive chefs. The evening will be beautifully complemented by the soulful jazz of resident singer Sina Calí, adding a touch of romance and classic jazz at its finest.

Chef Hans Zahner – Executive Chef
The Peninsula Bangkok is proud to introduce Chef Hans Zahner, a Michelin-starred chef renowned for his expertise in French cuisine. Chef Zahner began his culinary journey in Burgundy and Lyon, later working with legendary chefs Alain Ducasse and Christophe Moret. He earned his first Michelin star at Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris before joining The Peninsula Shanghai, where he led Sir Elly’s to Michelin-starred status. Most recently, Chef Zahner served as Executive Chef at Signiel Hotel in Seoul, working alongside the world-renowned chef Yannick Alléno. Now, as the new Executive Chef at The Peninsula Bangkok, Chef Zahner is set to elevate the culinary experience across all dining venues, events, and private functions, bringing his expertise and passion to every dish.
Chef Dicky To – Executive Chinese Chef
Chef Dicky To joins The Peninsula Bangkok as the new Executive Chinese Chef at Mei Jiang, the hotel’s acclaimed Cantonese restaurant. With extensive experience at The Peninsula hotels in Shanghai, Tokyo, Paris, and London, Chef To is a celebrated figure in Chinese culinary arts. At Mei Jiang, Chef To will introduce a new signature menu that honours traditional Cantonese flavours while incorporating local ingredients. His innovative approach aims to capture the essence of Chinese haute cuisine, reflecting his philosophy of recording taste in the memories of his diners.
Chef Jimmy Boulay – Executive Pastry Chef
Joining the team as Executive Pastry Chef, Chef Jimmy Boulay is an expert pâtissier and chocolatier with a distinguished career at prestigious establishments such as Fauchon Paris, Sketch in London, and Le Meurice in Paris. Most recently, Chef Boulay served as Executive Pastry Chef at Four Seasons Hotel Seoul. Chef Boulay has collaborated with culinary icons such as Alain Ducasse, Cedric Grolet, Yannick Alleno, and Yorick Tièche. With extensive international experience and exceptional creativity, his passion for dessert-making will elevate The Peninsula Bangkok’s pastry offerings, blending artistry with exquisite flavours.
