“C’mon Albo, everyone knows the Sunshine Coast is the real Craft Beer Capital of Australia!” says Visit Sunshine Coast CEO, Matt Stoeckel.

The Sunny Coast’s comment follows the Prime Minister’s recent headlining of an event by Sydney’s Inner West Brewery Association, which claimed the region was the Craft Beer Capital of Australia when launching its new Inner West Ale Trail. (https://innerwestaletrail.com.au/)

“It was a nice try, but facts are facts, and the Sunshine Coast has both more craft breweries – 24 – and also more breweries per capita*,” said Mr Stoeckel.

“We even have breweries with ocean and mountain views.

“The Sunshine Coast’s craft beer scene has developed massively over the last decade, with multiple national awards, and now our brewers are reaching further afield to New Zealand, where they recently shared the best of our brews with the Kiwis.

“Perhaps it’s been a while since the PM visited the Sunshine Coast, so we’d love to invite him up here to visit the breweries, meet some of our passionate brewers and – of course – enjoy a cold gold ale.

“It’s an open invitation.”
