On Tuesday 10 October, Marriott International Fiji Hotels will celebrate Fiji Day across the cluster of resorts with a series of with cultural activities and immersive experiences for guests to enjoy.
At Sheraton Fiji Resort & Spa, Tokoriki Island guests can take part in a series of activities from a bush walk to face painting, coconut collecting, and the island-favourite, coconut bowling. Join in the flag ceremony and national anthem and partake in the authentic kava ceremony. End the day with a lively game of touch rugby and the traditional torch-lighting.
Meanwhile at Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay by Lagoon House, festivities include meke performances and a flag-raising ceremony. The resort will also be hosting an art exhibition featuring local artists. The Vanua Lomani Art Exhibition will feature five local artists who will share their stunning creations—Alifereti Malani, Mason James Lee, Andre Somumu, Ratu Josua Toganivalu, and Meli Somumu.
Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort and Sheraton Denarau Villas will be celebrating Fiji Day with a series of family friendly activities. Join in the flag ceremony, national anthem and enjoy cultural dances showing Fijian, Indian, and South Pacific Island performances. Families can learn about the history of Fiji, or join in on beach volleyball and family aqua aerobics. The resorts will be hosting a special Farm to Fork experience showcasing traditional Fijian cuisine using ingredients hand-picked from the DGRC Farm. The resort has also introduced Uto ni Yalo, a curated cocktail using Kava ice-cubes, London dry gin, ginger beer, and lime juice. Complimentary tasting at 28g from 12pm – 1pm on 9th and 10th October at 28g only.
