To prepare for further growth in the Finnish market, Nordic Hotels & Resorts is appointing a Director of Operations for Finland. After an extensive selection process, the choice fell on Petri Isomäki. His most recent role was Group Operations Manager for Generator | Freehand Hotels based at their Global HQ in London.
Nordic Hotels & Resorts is the largest and fastest-growing collection of independent hotels in the Nordics. It is a lifestyle-oriented hotel group with over 45 hotels. In Finland, the group has grown from zero to eleven hotels in eight years. The plans for continued growth in the Finnish market are ambitious.
– We are a company with growth in our DNA. And although we’ve grown quickly in recent years, it has motivated us rather than slowed us down. To manage this, we need a Director of Operations with the right qualifications, and we have found that in Petri. He has extensive and diverse experience from various leadership roles in the hospitality industry, both in Finland and abroad. In all his roles, he has successfully improved operational efficiency, increased revenues, and fostered a positive work culture. Petri is an experienced leader with a hands-on attitude and a strategic perspective. I am therefore extremely pleased to welcome Petri to our hotel family and am confident that he, together with the team, will achieve great things, says Erika Ehrnrooth, COO Strawberry Finland.
Petri Isomäki has an impressive CV with extensive knowledge of the hotel industry. Prior London he served as COO and CEO for Helsinki based Primehotels. Petri has held various leadership roles in well-known hotel chains such as Sokos Hotels, Radisson Blu, Ramada, Crowne Plaza and Marriott.
As Director of Operations for Nordic Hotels & Resorts in Finland, Petri will be responsible for the daily operations of the hotel portfolio, focusing on strengthening the hotels’ brands and market positions, and creating a successful, organized, and efficient operation.
– It’s a true privilege to step into this role and guide such a distinctive collection of luxury and lifestyle hotels. We are talking about a unique blend of exceptional and passionate professionals and a remarkable portfolio featuring some of the finest hotels in the Nordics. Our mission is to craft unforgettable experiences while constantly pushing to be the best, with people at the heart of everything we do. My extensive international experience in various hospitality operations, commercial expertise, and building a shared culture together with the team are certainly strengths that will be reflected in everyday work. I look forward to collaborating with this talented team as we embark on the next chapter of Nordic Hotels & Resorts journey in Finland, says Petri Isomäki.
Petri Isomäki will be part of the Finnish management team for Strawberry and will report to COO Finland, Erika Ehrnrooth. Petri will assume his new role on October 1st.
