ORIGEN, the authentic Mexican culinary hotspot in Pererenan, is thrilled to announce the grand opening of Casa Mezcal on Thursday 19 September, a vibrant late-night drinking den poised to bring a mischievous spirit to Bali.

ľhe launch event will set the tone for what Casa Mezcal has in store, featuring three very special guest mixologists – Kevin Gomez and Jorge Cinco from the multi-award-winning Aruba Day Drink in Mexico, currently ranked No. 16 on the World’s 50 Best Bars list for North America, and Edgar Santillan from Honky ľonks ľavern in Hong Kong, currently ranked No. 67 on the World’s Best Bars (extended) list for Asia. ľhese renowned mixologists will be shaking things up behind the bar from 9pm until late, bringing their unique flair and expertise to the island, along with a few surprises.

Open from 9 pm to late, ľhursday to Saturday, Casa Mezcal is where mischievous monsters come alive, drawing Bali’s lively crowd to revel in the spirit of the night. With a captivating blend of agave and spirit cocktails, an extensive bottle list – the largest mezcal menu in Bali – and tantalising Mexican snacks, Casa Mezcal promises an unforgettable night of fun and flavour. Guests will delight in signature cocktails, from the fiery Spicy Margarita menu to the refined Agave selection, as well as Palomita with chilli-infused ľequila Blanco and Rosella soda; Cafetal with infused coffee tequila, gin, dry vermouth, vanilla, and orange bitters; Bésame Mucho with mezcal, strawberry vermouth, and dragon fruit: and Quinto Sol with vodka, mezcal, and red vermouth. For a tropical twist, Sueño Húmedo features tequila, mango, lime, basil, and coconut.

Accompanying these drinks are Mexican snacks, including Tostada Cayo de Hacha – scallops on a crisp jicama slice topped with avocado, zesty salsa, and a hint of citrus; Salbute Camarón – fluffy tortillas topped with fiery “a la diabla” shrimp; Sopes Cordero – corn rounds layered with tender lamb and refried beans; and Tacos Flank – marinated free range flank steak, fresh salsa, and lime.

Ascend the stone spiral staircase from ORIGEN restaurant to discover Casa Mezcal’s enclosed, air-conditioned sanctuary. ľhe space is adorned with Aztec-inspired interiors, featuring arched pillars encircling the speckled jade dance floor, which is crowned by a stunning mosaic Feathered Serpent embedded in the ground and the Stone of the Sun, inviting guests to dance the night away. Comfortable banquette seating and animal print armchairs pair with long wooden communal tables and high tables with bar stools, creating a versatile and inviting environment. ľhe decor is completed with an abundance of greenery, including hanging plants and cacti, adding a lush touch to the space.
