Cebu Pacific (CEB), the Philippines’ leading carrier, has announced the launch of a daily service between Sydney and Manila in time for the 10th anniversary of the route, with Sydney Airport the only airport in Australia to offer a daily service to this popular destination.

The daily flight which commences on 1 December 2024 will significantly enhance capacity on the route with flights due to operate on CEB’s high-density and more fuel-efficient Airbus A330neo aircraft, configured with 459 Economy Class seats.

Airbus NEOs are the latest-generation aircraft that burn 15 per cent less fuel per flight and produce less noise compared to the previous generation. The reduction in fuel consumption leads to a corresponding reduction in aircraft carbon emissions.

With the commencement of CEB’s daily service in December, Sydney Airport now has the greatest capacity to the Philippines in Australia and will increase seat capacity from Sydney into Manila by 44% of December 2019 levels, with 3,213 weekly seats.

To celebrate the increase in capacity, CEB is launching a special seat sale from
6 September to 10 September 2024 allowing passengers from Sydney to book their flights to Manila for as low as AUD 209 one-way all-in fare1 – perfect for those who want to plan their visit to the Philippines during the warm summer months.

Scott Charlton, CEO of Sydney Airport, stated, “We are proud to be the only airport in Australia offering a daily service to Manila, provides passengers with unprecedented choice and convenience when traveling to Sydney.”

“This new route not only strengthens our ties with the Philippines but also offers passengers seamless access to Manila, opening a world of opportunities for business and leisure alike. We are thrilled to support Cebu Pacific in delivering this valuable service and look forward to the positive impact it will have on both our communities.”

CEB began its Sydney-Manila operations on 9 September 2014. Since then, it has become one of the most popular international routes that the airline serves.

“We are thrilled to be expanding our network at Sydney Airport. This development is a testament to our commitment to enhancing global connectivity and providing greater convenience for our passengers from Australia,” said Xander Lao, CEB President and Chief Commercial Officer.

“The Philippines is home to a wide variety of sights and activities suited to every type of traveller. With our widest domestic network and value-for-money fares, we hope more visitors from Sydney will be able to explore the pristine beaches, delectable cuisines, and colourful festivals of the Philippines.”
