The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach continues its evolution as Waikiki’s premier luxury resort with the official debut of its Sky Suite Collection – including a brand-new, show-stopping Sky Penthouse. The award-winning residential resort is also welcoming travelers with a reimagined pool experience with locally inspired experiences designed to meaningfully immerse travelers in Hawaii’s vibrant culture. The enhancements capture the essence of “mauka to makai” (mountain to sea), mirroring the resort’s overall design narrative and experiences that celebrate the natural beauty of Oahu.
“Since opening our doors in 2016, we continue to evolve our Waikiki resort to offer new and elevated experiences to our discerning travelers,” said Ms. Regan Rosdil, Director of Sales & Marketing for The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach. “Our accommodations and pool experiences are integral elements of the resort experience, and our decision to enhance these offerings reflects the care our Ladies and Gentlemen have for our resort and Waikiki. We look forward to welcoming guests to experience these new spaces as they explore the destination.”
The Sky Suite Collection
The Sky Penthouse
The crowning jewel of one of the world’s most iconic beach destinations is The Sky Penthouse at The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach—the newest addition to the Waikiki skyline. Situated on floors 37-38 and rooftop of the Diamond Head Tower—350 feet high above Waikiki – the three-story suite boasts 2,191 square feet of stylishly appointed spaces that seamlessly blend a modern design with show-stopping views of the Pacific Ocean. Natural light permeates throughout the space, with floor-to-ceiling windows surrounding an intimate living area, dining room, and gourmet kitchen. The fully equipped chef’s kitchen features Miele appliances (including a wine fridge and wall ovens), and luxury furnishings along with an island counter with seating. Modern wall art and decorative accents boast pops of color and texture, serving as exceptional conversation pieces. The resort can arrange private chef-prepared dinners in-suite, served at an expansive dining table that is perfect for an intimate celebration or stylish soiree. The suite also features two well-appointed bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and walk-in closets; the master commands the entire second floor of the penthouse with separate his and her bathrooms with dual vanities; a total of 4.5 bathrooms with deep soaking tubs and separate rain showers lined with marble; a private media room for movie night; and a wet bar for entertaining. Perhaps the most breathtaking feature is the rooftop deck, which houses a private plunge pool, hot tub and barbecue grill, all offering sweeping views of the city and ocean. Guests can soak in the sun by the day, meditate under the stars at night, or even enjoy the Friday night fireworks from the best seat in Waikiki—all from the privacy of their own stylish suite.
The Sky Four-Bedroom Suite
Commanding 2,988 square feet of luxurious comfortability, the four-bed, five-bath suite is the largest at the resort and grants guests unparalleled views of the striking blue waters of the Pacific Ocean and the lush treetops of Fort Derussy. Ideal for families or hosting friends, guests of this two-story suite plus den will enjoy the largest kitchen at the resort, as well as a dining table for up to 10 for gatherings of all occasions. The space features cerused oak hardwood floors, marble bathroom floors, walls, and countertops and natural oiled-walnut millwork, as well as an island counter with seating for up to five guests. Accented with lanai seating and premium appliances, it is the only four-bedroom suite in Waikiki and can sleep up to 10 guests.
The Sky Three-Bedroom Suite
The Sky Three-Bedroom Suite is the most photographed suite at the resort, positioned in the corner unit of the ‘Ewa Tower. Guests of this suite have some of the best views of the entire resort, including a breathtaking view of the iconic Diamond Head Crater and other remarkable parts of the island. This suite also has floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the residence with photo-perfect panoramas of Waikiki and the Pacific Ocean. Other suite highlights include an expansive kitchen with island seating for four, formal dining space with high-end furnishings, fully stocked gourmet kitchens, dining table for up to eight, and much more. Other amenities include a pre-stocked refrigerator with complimentary local beverages, refreshments and snacks.
Reimagined Pool Experience and New Skincare Attendant
Perched high above the streets of Waikiki, the resort has reimagined its famed infinity pools – among the highest in Waikiki – with enhancements and new amenities, inspired by nostalgic endless summer days at the beach in Hawaii, to cater to today’s luxury travelers. Refreshed pool and lounge furniture, umbrellas, and private cabanas at both infinity pools reflect the vibrant colors of Hawaii, with plush chaise lounge chairs offering the ultimate spot for relaxation.
“One of the greatest things about living in Hawaii is being able to enjoy summer weather all year round,” said Keenan Rothenborg, Recreation Manager, who was born and raised on Oahu. “Growing up in Hawaii, our fondest childhood memories include endless days at the beach with friends and family, and what brings these memories to life are the different senses that are engaged during an island beach day. We are excited to bring the Oahu beach experience to our guests here at the resort.”
To enjoy the essence of Oahu at the pool, The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach and its Oahu-born and raised Ladies and Gentlemen created two distinctive pool experiences for guests to enjoy. For an intimate, private and tranquil experience inspired by Oahu’s hidden and off-the-beaten-path beaches, venture to the Adult Pool. For an energetic and lively experience under the sun inspired by Oahu’s vibrant and highly popular beaches, head to the Resort Pool.
To enliven the sense of taste, a rotation of locally produced and sourced treats and snacks, evoking childhood memories at the beach, are presented each hour across both pools. Each item is selected with intention and representative of the Oahu lifestyle. For example, fresh pineapple with li hing mui is reminiscent of quintessential beach snacks after a day of surfing, while a mix of local popcorn and kakimochi speaks to the melting pot of Asian cultures on the Island. Guests reserving any of the private cabanas can enjoy a refreshing welcome beverage of calamansi, coconut and yuzu spritz as well as a pre-stocked fridge with locally produced beverages and snacks.
The resort’s very popular daily afternoon ritual, Low Tide, is still available to guests every day at 2 p.m. offering locally made ice creams and sorbet with a rotating list of flavors such as guava, ube, mango, kulolo and more. For guests at the Adult Pool, an adult version of the famous ritual was newly created to greet the sunsets on Friday evening, with sorbet topped off with sparkling wine.
As skincare and sun protection continue to be important to travelers, a new Skincare Attendant is available to guests at the pool. As guests take in the warm Island sun, the Skincare Attendant presents an assortment of eco-friendly sunscreen and serums from the spa, and other skincare products to protect and nourish skin.
