The rubber will soon hit the road for Andrew Farriss when his “Something Stronger” tour rolls across Australia.
With the “Something Stronger” single out now on Australian country radio, the tour kicks off on Thursday, October 24, at the Brass Monkey in Cronulla then takes in 11 dates nationally into mid-November. The tour marks a significant new chapter in Andrew’s solo career, blending the iconic INXS hits that defined a generation with new material from his forthcoming second album, “The Prospector,” set for release in 2025.
Today, the legendary songwriter, solo artist, and co-founder of INXS is happy to reveal the local opening acts who will join this highly-anticipated tour.
For opening night on October 24 at the Brass Monkey in Cronulla, Bryce Sainty will warm up the crowd. Andrew first met this breakout artist at a Songwriter’s Showcase at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in 2022 and Bryce has gone on to amass over three million streams on Spotify. Canberra will feature emerging ACT country artist Dana Hassall, with up-and-coming firebrand Kyle Manning providing quality support at the Orange Wine Festival. Five-time Golden Guitar winners the Davidson Brothers open in Melbourne and Bendigo on October 31-November 1, with 2024 Q Music Award nominee Tori Forsyth performing for Gold Coast and Brisbane audiences. Wrapping up with four WA dates from November 7-10 will be 2023 Tamworth Country Music Festival ‘Toyota Star Maker’ finalist, Claudia Tripp.
“Within the music industry both here in Australia and overseas, support bands and singer/songwriters play a very important role, both for the audience and for showcasing the talents of the musicians and singers involved,” says Andrew.
“I know how it feels in both places. I have lived this and have performed myself both as a support act and to be encouraging support acts as the main concert headliner. This is gonna be awesome. It’s gonna kick ass.”
