An all-new Indigenous laser, light and sound show, the early morning immersive experience will showcase the spiritual heart of Australia and the connection Aṉangu (the Traditional Owners of Uluṟu) have to Country.

A collaboration between renowned leading Aṉangu artists and leading visual experience creator, Mandylights, the sensory display will transform the desert landscape into a kaleidoscope of colour and sound. Brought to life with state-of-the-art animation technology, the two-hour Sunrise Journeys experience takes place as the sun rises on Uluṟu.

One of Australia’s most acclaimed contemporary artists, Angelica Mesiti, will premiere an immersive visual and sonic experience in the extraordinary Tank at the Art Gallery of New South Wales in September.

The major new commission includes seven monumental video screens interspersed between the Tank’s own forest of concrete columns. Across the screens, a film composed of two sweeping movements conjures collective celebrations relating to the ‘hibernal’ (winter) and ‘aestival’ (summer) solstices: the longest night and the longest day of the year, respectively.

From 1-10 November, celebrate Canberra’s creative spirit at the biennial Craft + Design Canberra Festival where the city’s rich cultural diversity and innovative design take center stage.

Showcasing everything from Indigenous Australian art to modernist architecture, the festival highlights the dynamic craft and design industries that make Canberra a global city of design.

Marking its tenth year, the festival offers an exciting array of events, including symposiums, exhibitions, open studios, tours, and workshops for all ages.

Western Australia’s South West will again host Australia’s largest destination film festival, CinefestOZ, from 31 August to 8 September. Showcasing more than 80 feature and short films, the program includes an exclusive preview of new Australian family comedy Runt (pictured).

Alongside the official film program, festival goers will also be able to celebrate the rich Indigenous culture of the South West as part of the free Deadly Day; support young future filmmakers as part of the Cinesnaps schools program and learn more about our flourishing screen industry at the Industry Program.
