Hilton (NYSE: HLT) has been named the top hospitality company to work for in Indonesia by global research and consulting firm Great Place To Work®. Placing #2 in the large-sized organization category this year, this marks the second consecutive year that Hilton has been awarded the title, following its inaugural win in 2023. This achievement is Hilton’s fourth workplace culture win in South East Asia this year, where Hilton was also the top-ranked hospitality company to appear on the Philippines, Vietnam, and Sri Lanka Best Workplaces 2024 lists. Globally, Hilton was recently named #1 World’s Best Workplace by Fortune and Great Place to Work – the first and only hospitality company to ever receive this accolade.

“Being named one of the Best Workplaces for the second time in a row in Indonesia, a key market for Hilton, is testament to the trust our Team Members have placed in us. We continue to be committed to being an engine of opportunity for our Team Members and in fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace where they are empowered to put their best foot forward. This incredible honour truly belongs to our Team Members, who have worked tirelessly to ensure that Hilton continues to be a great place to work for all,” said Alexandra Murray, vice president and regional head of South East Asia, Hilton.

Hilton has placed an emphasis on hiring, training and developing local talent in Indonesia, and most of the 2,000 Team Members across 10 properties are local talent. Nearly nine in 10 leadership positions are held by Indonesians, with women holding close to a third of such roles. To help Team Members realize the myriad of growth opportunities at Hilton and bring their best selves to work, Hilton’s initiatives include:

  • Thrive at Hilton, the global hospitality company’s industry-leading program and team member value proposition that provides employees with meaningful opportunities to thrive in mind, body, and spirit in both their professional and personal lives.
  • GoFlexi!, a new flexible work initiative recently introduced in South East Asia as part of the evolving nature of work, that emphasizes wellness and productivity and the diverse needs of team members, by providing an accommodating work environment that values wellness while enhancing employee engagement and overall productivity.
  • Care for All, an industry-leading caregiving support platform — and an extension of Hilton’s mental wellness hub, is designed to provide and support team members with the essential tools and resources needed for self-care, enabling them to also care for others, including the sick, disabled, or elderly family members, children, and pets.
  • Hilton SEA Management Trainee program, which seeks to attract, retain, nurture and develop young talent across Hilton’s hotels in South East Asia and serves as a pipeline for the next generation of leaders in Indonesia’s hospitality industry.
  • Women in Leadership (WIL) initiative, a newly launched initiative to help women leaders across South East Asia grow in both professional and personal capacities, through various learning and development programs such as workshops, eLearning, as well as mentoring and networking sessions.
  • Lead@Hilton, an industry-leading platform that offers team members access to a suite of learning resources on management and leadership, including virtual development programs that aim to enhance the capabilities of team members in leadership roles.
  • Go Hilton, the company’s popular team member travel program that offers discounted travel benefits for all employees at Hilton to travel and recharge, and is regardless of their background, location, or role in the organization.
  • Careers@Hilton, a platform for annual awareness campaigns that aim to highlight and provide young individuals in the hospitality industry with guidance and opportunities.

Team members can also take time off to live a dream by pursuing a passion or give a dream by helping others through Hilton’s Thrive Sabbatical and Thrive Reset programs. This year, Nicholaus Pambudi, human resources coordinator, DoubleTree by Hilton SurabayaIndonesia was selected for the Thrive Sabbatical program. He will help improve the lives of those living on Papan Island by contributing supplies to the local school and helping rebuild a bridge that will allow children to travel to school more easily.

To determine the 2024 edition of Indonesia’s Best Workplaces, Great Place To Work® confidentially surveyed and collected feedback from employees across the country through the Culture Audit© and Trust Index survey. Earning a spot on this prestigious list is a recognition of an organization’s outstanding workplace culture, establishing it as an employer of choice. The win also stems from the positive feedback directly from team members across Indonesia.
