    Incredible Snow Conditions! Thredbo Prepares For Biggest Month Yet

    Thredbo’s skiing and snowboarding conditions are incredible currently thanks to recent snowfall and snowmaking operations.

    Thredbo received 25cm of fresh snow on the weekend, taking the total snowfall count for July to 111cm.

    Skiers and snowboarders enjoyed fresh powder over the weekend and are now scoring bluebird days with fresh cord on the groomed runs this week. Thanks to the cold temperatures, the snowpack has remained in great shape following the snowfall with dry and chalky conditions across the mountain

    All lifts are now spinning and 43 trails are now open, providing access to all main resort areas and top-to-bottom skiing.
    The significant snowfall throughout July has enabled Thredbo to build a strong snow base for skiing and snowboarding, setting the resort up well for the next two months of the season.

    Overnight temperatures have been subzero every night this week, creating ideal conditions for snowmaking operations. Temperatures dropped as low as -8.9 degrees last night, allowing Thredbo to pull off its biggest snowmaking night of the season with 181 of the strongest snowmaking guns firing for over 15 hours, pumping out over 11,000 cubed metres of water.

    Looking forward, this week is forecast to deliver lots more bluebird days and freezing overnight temperatures ideal for snowmaking. Experts forecast another significant snowstorm will arrive to Thredbo on August 10, bringing up to 30cm of fresh snow.
