Looking for last minute ideas for the school holidays or a winter adventure less than two hours from Sydney? We’ve got you covered. Take in the crisp fresh air of the Blue Mountains with a visit to Scenic World. Whether you want to stroll beneath the rainforest canopy, uncover the story of the Gruffalo (and grab a photo with the Gruffalo in real life!), or climb on top of the Scenic Skyway as dusk settles into the valley, Scenic World has an adventure waiting for you.
Ride aboard the world’s steepest railway – the Scenic Railway – into the Jamison Valley. Discover the hidden wonders of the ancient rainforest as you meander along our Scenic Walkway, the longest elevated boardwalk in Australia, and listen for the calls of the Lyrebird. Travel up close to the sandstone cliff sides as you ride back up on the Scenic Cableway, the steepest cable car in the Southern Hemisphere. Take in the Three Sisters, Katoomba Falls and Mount Solitary on the iconic Scenic Skyway as you glide 270m above the valley. The views are endless, and so are the options for your adventure.
The Gruffalo Spotters Trail: Fun for the whole family
Mouse, Fox, Snake, and the Gruffalo are hiding in the rainforest at Scenic World – can you find them? Follow the clues as you dive into the whimsical world of the Gruffalo story on a self-guided quest to find the Gruffalo and his friends along the 30-minute rainforest boardwalk. Kids will be equipped with a Gruffalo Spotters Trail guidebook as they watch the characters come to life with an augmented virtual reality experience using an app (free to download on both android and IOS). Meet and greets with the Gruffalo are on daily in the school holidays. The Gruffalo Spotters Trail is included with all Scenic World passes. Ends on 25 August. Find out more.
