To bolster regional connectivity and enhance tourism, Vietjet has announced the inauguration of two new flight routes, linking Vietnam with key destinations in South Korea and China. Starting from October 27, 2024, the budget airline will launch the Nha Trang-Daegu route, followed by the Ho Chi Minh City-Xi’an route commencing on July 1, 2024.
The Nha Trang-Daegu route will feature seven round-trip flights per week, connecting Vietnam’s picturesque coastal city with Daegu, a major urban centre in southeastern South Korea. Nha Trang, often called the “Pearl of the East Sea,” is renowned for its tropical climate, rich cultural heritage, and exquisite cuisine. Meanwhile, Daegu offers a plethora of tourist attractions and serves as a crucial economic and cultural hub in South Korea.
Celebrating a Decade of Connectivity
This announcement comes as Vietjet celebrates a decade of connecting Vietnam and South Korea. Since its inaugural flight in July 2014, Vietjet has transported approximately ten million passengers between the countries through over 37 regular and charter services. This milestone has significantly enhanced economic ties, boosted tourism, and fostered cultural exchange between Vietnam and South Korea.
Bridging Vietnam and China
In addition to the Nha Trang-Daegu route, Vietjet is set to launch a new route connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Xi’an, the capital of Shaanxi province in China. This route will operate four roundtrip flights weekly to deepen cultural and economic relationships between the two cities and their neighbouring regions. Xi’an, known for its rich historical heritage, including the famous Qin Shi Huang Mausoleum and the Terracotta Warriors, was once the starting point of the ancient Silk Road, symbolizing a long history of international trade and cultural exchange.
Boosting Regional Connectivity and Tourism
Introducing these routes is a testament to Vietjet’s commitment to expanding its network across Vietnam and internationally. With connections to Australia, India, Northeast Asia, and Southeast Asia destinations, Vietjet creates new opportunities for cultural exchange, educational pursuits, economic development, and tourism.
To celebrate the launch of these new routes, Vietjet is offering a special seat sale for Australian travellers. From now until July 7, 2024, travellers can book one-way, all-in tickets starting at AUD 199 across Vietjet’s network. This promotional fare is available for travel between August 22, 2024, and May 25, 2025, subject to seat availability depending on the route and travel dates.
A Superior Travel Experience
Passengers flying with Vietjet can look forward to an inspiring journey on a modern fleet supported by professional and dedicated flight crews. The airline also offers a delectable menu featuring Vietnamese culinary delights, such as the renowned Pho Thin and Banh mi Vietnam, ensuring a memorable in-flight dining experience.
Vietjet’s expansion underscores its strategic vision to enhance connectivity, foster economic growth, and promote tourism between Vietnam and other major regional cities. These new routes signify a remarkable step forward in bridging cultures and economies, reaffirming Vietjet’s role as a pivotal player in the aviation industry.
