To promote Macau’s unique culinary culture and charm, and in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the SAR, Melco Resorts & Entertainment offered its full support for the International Cities of Gastronomy Fest, Macao organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO).
Melco participated in the highlight forum event ‘Holistic Gastronomy: Eat well, live well’, which served as a platform for interaction and exchange between representatives from the Cities of Gastronomy and the food and beverage industry. During the panel discussion ‘Exploring Holistic Gastronomy: A Journey into Macao’s Culinary and Wellness Landscape’, Mr. Kenneth Law, Culinary Operations Director of Studio City, joined fellow panelists to discuss the transformative power of holistic gastronomy and forecasted its promising future in shaping healthier, more sustainable communities.
Melco’s culinary team members also showcased their professional skills with Head Chef Mr. Arquimino Lameiras, who possesses 20 years of experience, demonstrating the highly popular dish, Portuguese Shrimp Empanadas. The presentation not only highlighted the team’s exceptional techniques and culinary knowledge but further served to enrich exchange among industry peers, residents and visitors.
And, to support the government’s integration of sustainability into the “1+4” adequate diversification strategy and contribute to a greener and low-carbon Macau, Melco hosted the ‘Cities of Gastronomy Chef’s Talk – Achieve Sustainable Development Goals’ at City of Dreams, inviting Mexican Chefs Mr. David Cetina and Ms. Armando Pérez, along with Ms. Lily Tse from the Lever Foundation, to join Melco’s culinary team representative Mr. Arquimino Lameiras and sustainability team representative Ms. Sylvie Fung to share topics related to industry sustainable strategies and practices with Melco colleagues.

The International Cities of Gastronomy Fest, Macao event was held between June 14 and 23, welcoming representatives from nearly 30 UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy across 18 countries to promote preservation and exchange among UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) and contribute to the achievement of the goals in the United Nation’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
